Still painting on it, Turned out much too glossy for what I wanted but I can fix that. I hope. Always wanted one this color. Just a little to much bling. It will be good for hunting season. I fiberglass the fender to the front bumper to get rid of the seam. Don't know how long it will last but for now it it smooth.

couple more. Also getting Coupe to help out on something. Come on coupe!!!
I'll have it out in the sun next week. WIth the hood and hatch on. Still wainting on the black trim for the windows rocker and splats. Hope to paint that Sunday night.
I did learn something about painting. If it don't go on easy then don't fight it. When I painted the hood and hatch the paint flowed very well with no problems. When I painted the body. Nothing did right. May have to respray it one more time if it don't buff out.

Almost, the idea did come about with the rims. Orange on the outer most ring. I was to chicken to do it. Soon as I get it out in the sun I will know for sure on the color.

I like the black trim you have done around the nose piece. Are you going to paint the molding black too (front and rear bumper covers)?

May do the bumper cover trim in black. For now it will stay same as the car. Still waiting on the spliter in front. After that I will know what else to paint black.

I like it a lot, but don't you think the splitter needs to be brought forward a bit more?

SvoBrown
08-31-2007, 05:17 PM
It's adjustable. Can come out 3" more. Don't want to show to much at once. May have to put something on the front to help support it. Or brace the bottom to keep it from tearing off the front cover. A few of the people I talk to said they have seen the spliter pull the front nose off the car. Lots of down force!

Got it out in the sun. Had a friend come over and show me how to buff the paint. Stayed 6 hours and cussed me like a dog for the orange peel. Still needs work but it sure does look better than I ever expected. Got some poor pictures for now. Do better next time.

You just had to show me what 40psi of boost felt like on a 2.3 :jester:
Could have been worse. You could have broke down at somebody's house that didn't have a truck and trailer to take you back home :jester:

I enjoyed the ride out to the country though :nice:

I don't think he knows yet. I called him a little while ago and he said that he hadn't had the energy at that time to take a look at it. I think we both are hoping that it is a head gasket

Seriously that car pulls nicely. I think he showed me on the datalogs this morning where it had boosted to 25psi.

Red bull and nice ribeye will take apart any car in under 2 hours. Cylinders look good. Not going to pull the block. Just put another gasket on and drive.

Didn't get lean. I think it was just a bad headgasket. It was a victor brand. I used it because it came in a set off ebay Cheap, lasted 2 years. . Had not plan on this motor staying in the car this long. Just a quick build off an old stock block. Have another engine on a stand. Just waiting for late winter to finish it and put it in.

Got the head back on and just need to finish it up Tuesday night. Have a felpro 1035 on it now. More better.

Car looks great man. That Fel-pro 1035 is a good one, lot of the Turbo Ranger guys are using it, a lot of them are still blowing them too though.

The svo is back on the highway. Just hope I don't get nutty with it again. Looking at MPG with it now. Shooting for 35mpg on 93 octane. Only running 12 lbs of boost for it should be at 220 hp. Gear box is noises but that is from the shifter. Spec clutch is broke in and bites like a trap. I can slip it some but it is all or none at a stop light. The flywheel has some to do with it. At 9 lbs it is quick to rev. up. Very happy with the budget beater. Matt and the turbo he built acts very well with the lower rpm cam. RR. Still a quick little beast.

Come on Lee!

Matt set me up on the flywheel and clutch. I was afraid at first with it but now I really like it. Still have not done any hole shots but it seems to be just right. I think it is a stage 2 or 3. Been a few years since he got it for me. Has the Kevlar disc.

Remember, if you think the turbo is limiting you, we can swap! I have the 57-trim T04E with the stage 3 turbine (good for 400+ at the tires).
It wakes up around 22 psi but I don't have the motor or fuel for it :(...

Yours is the 50-trim Stage 2 turbine.
