I am in the middle of replacing my P/S pump and cannot get the feed line off of the old pump. Is it reverse threaded or am i just missing something?

Nope, it's not a reverse thread.

Those things can be on there pretty good. Make sure you use a line wrench. . . of the correct size, of course.

Ok I went and bought a line wrench but now the bolt is too worn to remove, what now?

Heat, vice grips, and a new pressure line.

Heat, vice grips, and a new pressure line.
Yep, that may be his only option depending on how messed up the nut is now.

On a side note, I recently replaced my line and I seem to remember it being less than $20 at O'Reilly.

these are always fun,try penetrating oil first and the correct tool they make them for a reason,if that doesn't work and a hammer wont fit cut line and bench it.

one end of the line goes to the pump, and the other goes to the rack,as far as fluid, hard to say,if it's bone dry, about 2 qts

Don't over tighten the nut on the rack and pinion side. The nut should be snug, but the line should still be able to rotate.

That's a Mustang rack and pinion. I assume your Lincoln is similar.

haha, the translator doesn't work too well on that.

schiessen is to shoot. Ich schiesse auf das Tier - I shoot at the animal.

Wo hast du in Deutschland gewohnt?

Yeah, E-I, I-E pronunciation is very consistent in German, but not in English. It's very easy to invert the two on paper, even if you say it correctly.

I meant that I ran what I wrote through a translator, and it gave very strange results.
