What Would Be The Best Spark Plug To Run On A 100 Shot? I Read Where It Is Best To Use A Colder Buring Plug.

Put the gap a little tighter on them too.
Maybe in the .035-.040 range. :nice:

you don't have to do that with nitrous

you should be doing it

he could tighten the gap up a bit,but Geoffrey is running a MSD 6A box,so I don't *think* spark blow out should be a problem, but .044 is a good gap to go with.

spark blow out isnt the issue.its any amount of unwanted heat in the cylinder.

it wont cost you any amount of power but it is safer...so why not do it now just in case.especially if you are going to be running on 93 octane only

Why and how is there more heat? You get a way more effecient combustion by running the plug gap wider.

Unless you have a really nice CD ignition and a sensitive knock-sensor, you should always narrow the gap a bit on the Jug. The spark only starts the combustion, so has nothing to do with the completeness of burn...or the burn-rate. A multi-spark CD ignition helps, but narrowing the gap is just a little insurance. :nice:

the only ignition upgrade i have right now is a MSD 6aL. the rest is stock. i'm trying to get that window switch from matt. i don't know if it matters on the gap but its a wet kit. thanks for the info guys.:chug:

:agree: it gives you a more intense, concentrated spark for the initial combustion, and lowers the possibility for detonation!

picked up some autolite 23 last night. i got a little confused on the gap since ya'll have mixed opinions. i'll probably gap them around .040 or .044 that sound aight ?

I'd do between .035 - .040

Mine are at the stock gap of .045. (Well that's the stock gap on a 93 cobra) but I have a 6A box too

To back up some of what coupe said, I wouldn't run then at the stock gap of a 5.0 HO which is .054.

I say no tighter than .040.

hell i run mine at .032

.040-.045 is fine for a hundred shot any more we will need to discus further and when ludicrous nitrous comes into play we can discuss trimming
