If you plan on swapping.I would swap to the new rpm air gap intake.

a single plane intake with those heads would probably fall on its face

air gap for sure but if you are gonna lay a war waggon of nitrous on it the single will work best.you still getting my 4.88? let me know!!!

Just throwing another option out here, the Weiand Stealth intake has all the benefits of a dual, and single plane. MM&FF used it in one of their dyno comparisons a few years ago,and it was pretty impressive on the dyno numbers.Another good one is the one by Professional Products, that is identical to the RPM air gap(but much cheaper!),I think it's the typhoon, but I'm not sure of the name!

stay away from the profesional products!!!! I have had them and seen them with major issues ports didnt line up runners were cast bad and other issues.

I have a buddy with a stock bottom end ,out of box twisted wedges, b cam. edelbrock rpm air gap intake and runs 6.60's all day on a 175 shot

Good to know!,I've heard their balancers were shit, but never really heard anything bad about the intakes though.

I have ran all of the dual plane intake, and single planes from Ed. If you are goin to run all motor and some high rpms, go with the Air gap will be just as fast as the Victor jr. If youare goin to run NOS, I would go with the Victor jr. The air gap intake is 5-7hp less than the Victor jr, but torque is higher than the victor jr. PM me I have more info for ya............

I had a Edelbrock Performer Airgap on a 308 with AFR185 heads. I just swapped to a Victor Jr. so I could up the N20 shot, I was told not to go over 150 on the dual plane intake. When I first drove the car after the swap I foot braked it and I thought I really screwed up, lost alota bottom end torque. But then I tried it on the trans brake and WOW, it pulled harder. If I was never going to spray it alittle and it was more street then strip I woulda stayed with the Airgap.

same results here, but was told by a few people at edelbrock to cap it at 200 max 175 safe I have had good luck from the torker 2 on small cube engines with nitrous.

So what intake did you finally decide to use? I am going to the track this weekend and see what the times are.

air gap was the choice but torker 2 works very well and I would like to try a weiand xcelerator but it looks like it could use a little work

you just didnt get the point did you?

if a vic jr is to much and you throw a parker funnel web or a knock off on his car that flows even more than a vic jr it isnt going to run any faster its going to slow down even more.

your combo is different than his ,I understand you like it,but it isnt the intake that alot of the guys on this board can run they mostly have mild combos.I sold all my vic jr's cause I could have used a funnel web.you dont throw that intake on small cam & head combos.that intake is huge

its a knock off, depends where it was cast there are some almost exact replicas.I bought a replica once it was a great deal kinda hard to tell the guy who designed you bought a chink model when you talk to him

qkjuice didnt you have street heats on it, I use AFR 185s and it runs pretty good. 6.63 on a 175 shot with a 1.49 60ft.
