Hey guys! I'm in the market to get my windows tinted, but can't decide where and how dark. I did a forum search and found some pretty helpful info, but I wanted to see if anyone had some pictures of their windows and the different percentages. I'm leaning toward 15-20% right now. What do you guys recommend? And is Unlimited Audio the best place in Calhoun County?

I was waiting for one of our fine LEO'S to chime in.. :jester: but I would have to agree with him legal tint is dark enough if you tent all the windows.. just my 2 cents. Steven

Can the windshield be tinted? And 35% is legal, right?

5% on the sides and back and 30% on the winshield.

Is the 5% hard to see out of at night?

It's hard to judge purely off of pictures since differences in lighting can make it look darker or lighter than normal.

I've got legal tint on all of my windows except the back (which has 20%). It's not much lighter than my previous 20% all around... and it will check out legally by the LEO as long as he doesn't check the back window.

Thats what I did on the GT Its getting rare to take it on on the street and at the track it keeps the inside a bit cooler and it looks sweet ass. But it does suck driving at night.

Yeah, I think I better stay away from 5% since it'll be a daily (and nightly) driver. Plus, I don't want to blantantly challenge the law enforcement to pull me over.

Only the top 6" of a windshield can be tinted.

It is all but impossible to see out of at night! And when I pull a car over at night and have them turn on the interior lights, they can't see out at all!!

Although it was illegal. For many years I had 32% on the door glasses, 20% on the back glass and 1/4's, and 50% on the front windshield (full). This was on my 93 cobra.

I still need to get the windows tinted in my 08 GT and have not yet completely decided on what % I am going to go with yet.

I don't know anything about unlimited audio, I always use Hutch Touch

They do a good job? I'm just looking for a quality job, cost doesn't matter too much.

I've always done my own with pretty decent results. It is time consuming though, to do it right. You can't tell too good from the pic,put here's Tonya's old GT clone that I did the tint on (and everything else,THEN she decided to sell it! )

Another vote for legal tint. My car "had" 20% on it, but now it's faded so bad it is lighter than my wife's car with 35%. Her 35% tint is plenty dark IMO. I'll get mine redone eventually, and I'm going with 35% on the back and sides.

I've had 15% all the way around for 2 years now, and no fade. I know this because it was metered last September at 16% by the city of Anniston. That was the one and only time it has been noticed by LEO's.

I would recommend Llumar brand tint no matter where you get it done. :pimp:

I have 20% on my mustang and my F150. A buddy of mine that is a LEO said i could get by with 20% just don't go darker. I also have 50% on my windshield on my F150. my wifes car is legal and she wished she'd went with 20%

Oh yeah, Hutch touch did all mine

Looks like 20 might be right for me. Llumar, huh? I'll keep that in mind. And I'll see about Unlimited and if they'll lay a strip of vinyl over the dots on the rear windshield.

My Impala came with 20%. In the light it doesn't appear very dark since it's against a black car. It's a bit difficult to see out of at night especially if the weather is bad.

The darkness on the tint all depends on the color of your interior. If you have a white or tan interior, anything you put on there will look lighter. If you have greay or black interior it will look alot darker.

Here is my BMW with LLUMAR 15% on sides and back, 30% whole w/s.
