i Have An 85 Mustang Fox With A 302 None Ho..
i'm Looking Into Swapping The With A 2001 5.0 With Gt40 Head
and Intake.. I Have The Complete Engine With Wiring Harness And Computer.. Will I Have Any Problems Using My Stock Tranny? Will The 2001 Block Bolt Up To It? I Need Some Info With Wiring Diagrams And Any Modifications I Will Need To Perform..

Give more details about the motor you acquired...

Maybe because 2000 was the last year for the 302?:shrug:

could of been like my f150 truck manufactured in 94 and titled and sold as a 95 my big truck same way manufactured in 04 and titled and sold in may of 05 lol got to get rid of old stock to unsuspecting buyers but what do i know! just guessing.

regardless of what year your 302 come out of, yes it will bolt up to your tranny. Are you swapping to fuel injection or keeping it carb'd?

It will physically bolt up,but,he said he had the ECU and harness as well.There may be issues if that came from a vehicle with a electronic transmission.

I just put a set of new GT40-P heads on my car. Looking at the pictures I have, I noticed the date stamp on the intake side as 12/12/00...so I guess they could have been on a 2001 model.

Also, the wiring is gonna be a pain. Pre-87 cars have different connectors coming right off the 60 pin connector. I tried using a harness from an 89 to convert mine to mass air and it had a lot of different connectors. I ended up using a Granatelli add-on. Unless you're up to the challenge, I would go carb!
