I have put a aod in my 90 gt.It seemed to be a good tranny when Ibought from a friend of mine it shifted great. The problem is now after I put it my car it wont shift into drive.It shifts into the rest of the grears great.I have adjusted the tv cable and that dont seem to be the problem.It shifts from 1st to 2nd great but it wont go into drive it stays in second untill you let off the throttle then its like it justslets go.Anybody have any answers besides replacing it just yet .Any thing I might have miss on the install? Any help would greatly appresiated.

Mine was doing same thing a few weeks ago in my newly acquired '89 LX 5.0. I deemed it bad and just finished up a complete 5 speed swap. Mine first started slipping in OD then a few days later wouldnt shift out of 2nd and then seemed to just be free-wheeling after I would let off...so I figured it was toast.

This one was doing fine in the other car but after changing it went all to hell.I hate the thought of being bad since I just got itbut I guess that could have happened. hope it is something simple.

havent had the problem before,check your shifter linkage

where are you close to in knoxville? I am in maryville

Pretty sure drive is a direct drum and clutch pack...

Blackgt50, regardless of the trans issue, you should meet up with BAD INT sometime...he's a real cheap date and he's willing. lmfao.

LOL....

Did you change the fluid and filter when you swapped it in your car? If so that may have been what killed it....sometiems old fluid is all that holds the AOD's together....

Used AOD's are hit and miss. They are not that good of a tranny until they have been upgraded
