Hey guys, I heard that Blake was pulling up his dyno at Walker...I heard he was looking at a new building...I was wondering if anyone knows what he is doing, and where he might be moving to???

Thanks

He should be moving to a place off of Chalkville Mountain Road.

I heard that the guys from Icon Motorsports were buying some property next door to his new place. :jester:

That's good to hear. I was already starting to miss all the wheelies and open pipe harleys rolling through. :whip2:

its only a few miles from his old place. getting off the exit for trussville on i59 will drop you right off on it.

any word on the sale of his oil change? Or is he selling off any of the equipment? I haven't really talked to blake much since the shop closing. Guess i need to go by there.

The oil change and the building the dyno is in has been sold and they closed on the 25th of this month. They were supposed to close on the 25th of last month but the new people didn't have their business permit yet so they moved it back a month. I have no idea what all went with it.

Apparently Blake is still in the old building. When I was there a few weeks ago he was telling everyone that he had picked out a place on Chalkville Mountain Road. :wiggle:

Oh ok, did he say he would be moving anytime soon, or hang out in the old building for a while...I need to call him...anyone have his number, is it still the same??

I have no idea what the deal is anymore. He told me he was closing on the current building on August 25th, then it was September 25th. Then a couple of weeks ago when I asked him if he had found a new place he said he was going with the place off of Chalkville Mt. Road. I will be there tomorrow at 5:30 filming a 300Z so I'll see when/if he is moving.

nothign to do with blakes skill because hes great with mustangs of every generation but he just doesn't seem the same since b4 he decided to sale when I worked there he was so much different than now. Hopefully the move will help him out.

I agree.. we should cut him some slack. I don't really know what happened with everything.. mostly hearsay and rumor third hand.. but I've known Blake for the better part of 8 years. I was one of his first customers when Matt, his first tech guy, worked there back in '01.. he's tuned all of my cars, (except my svo), helped me diagnose the probs on my nitrous kit on my 94, has helped I can't imagine how many people on this board in particular out at one time or another.. and countless other people, as well as opening his shop to dynodays, private sessions, and just general Bs sessions talking cars, and hanging out.. WALKER DYNOTUNE was a clean operation with great prices and solid, repeat customer retention, and all that success goes to Blake. He's just a generally, good person.

I hope to God everything is ok with him, and I wish him all the best with his new location. Evrae, keep us posted if you get a lead on his new shop locale.

Will do I'm gonna stop by there this week at some point. I miss working there. rather upset me when he told us he was closing. I left a lil while b4 the others did just because a new job came up but it wasn't as fun as working there.
It was also nice to be generally immune to trussville police traffic stops LOL.

Last I heard was he was gonna build a new shop on service road in trussville. I talked to him about a month ago but that was it. I think skillet has been in touch with him more recently.

I know the dyno was put into a storage building recently. He is using a portable at the moment. He did say he was probably going go have to build a building. No time table on it though.

Yeah, I heard this past weekend that he was renting Bamachips dyno...so I guess he is using Doug's portable....

Blake has moved into the bay next to Motorvations in Trussville. He has a portable dyno as well as the motorcycle dyno. If you need dyno time call 249-6462.

Blake has purchased a dyno and should be up and running this weekend. He bought a 4 post dyno similar the one Speed South has. It's only 2 feet off the ground though.

This is good news for me as I've been referred to him from Doug @ bamachips for fox body tuning.

never met blake or used his facilities before, what kind of pricing does he have?

Decent/Middle of the road/Expensive as hell (but worth it)

Best I remember it's $60 for three pulls or $85 an hour which is the cheapest you will find. He definitely knows Mustangs. He use to have a turbo fox that ran 6.0s.

It's on Morrow Ave instead of Morrow Road where the old location was. Just go further away from the interstate pass the old place on Hwy 11 and turn between the Hi Fi Sound place and Mabes. They will be on the right. Once you are on that little road go all the way to the end and the last bay on the left is the Dyno. It is still a dyno jet as far as i know.

201 Morrow Ave Ste 4, Trussville, AL 35173-1486 is the address for Motorvations which is right beside the building the dyno is in. The interstate is left of this map.

249 6462 is the only number he has. You'll probably have to leave a message.

I went a couple months ago to get my car tuned for the methanol injection kit. call 205-249-6462 and leave him a message. Most of the time if its warm outside and the sun is out he is on the lake.

Yea you can probably get an appointment quicker somewhere else because Blake doesn't run the dyno everyday for a job. He does it because he enjoy's it and it gets him some extra play money every now and then. He is the only one I have ever let tune my cars and will be unless he quits.
