if i am not mistaken the factory rocker arms are a 1.6 ratio i have also heard of people using 1.7 rollers for alil more lift and less friction can i use 1.7 rollers and not run into any trouble on a factory head carbed 91 5.0 and would i see any real world gains in power or will i be asting 125$or more.

Is this with stock pistons?

an F cam and 1.7s will work.....but you should just save your money and buy better heads.

If the car is stock, yeah,go ahead and put them on.It'll make a noticeable increase in power.

1.7 roller rockers do make a difference. But, I don't think it's all that noticeable though..imo. They will add lift which is good for a couple of hp. but where they really benefit you is the reduction in friction over a factory stamped steel rocker. Takes less effort to open and close the valves, which "free's up" a few hp and with less friction, you'll have slightly lower oil temps. It's a good, cheap upgrade - but since you are running an F cam, you REALLY need to check your piston to valve clearance when you do it.

Ok,I missed the F cam in his sig.I would'nt do it if you still have the stock valvesprings.

the cost of springs and the rockers vs what you will pick up in hp gains aren't worth it in my opinion.

i knew the 1.7 would add a lil more lift but you said it might touch the piston would 1.6's do any good i figgured the only thing im really going to notice is gonna be that extras lil lift but if yall say not to ill def. go w/ the 1.6 and new valve springs

its not guaranteed but for every .1 you change on the rocker its about .030 in lift give or take.

As stated above the 15 hp or so for the 300 bucks of parts doesnt seem legit, especially with the work in changing springs

+ 1 million!!!!!!!!!!!!!

your cam is already has to much lift for your heads so why bother adding more lift? Stock E7's pretty much are maxed out around .470-.480 lift and not flowing any more air

Put that money in the bank and save for heads

Personally, I would save the money for better heads than the GT-40's. I'm far from experienced with 5.0 setups though.

Gt-40 heads are still not enough for that cam you have.

By the time you buy a set of GT-40's, have a machine shop install stiffer springs, and check for any repairs that may need to be made on them you are almost at the price for a set of used Edelbrocks or trickflows
