Yeah, it's not a surgery due to trauma. . .

. . . think of it as a medical inhancement surgery. :D

Actually, I think it would be more along the lines of a penis enlargement. :dirty:

. . . I've got to try and keep up with the local SVT penis extenders. :D

Hmmm, I wonder why the numbers don't match. ;)

Doesn't look like a $62 gasket

http://www.deepstageperformance.com/pics/twswap-05.jpg

Took my time so I didn't get to finish it up today; only a couple more hours of work left.

I wish I had known that you were going to do this a month or so ago. I had a set of those head gaskets with under 1 hour run time on them that I through in the garbage.

Tell us about the heads....
And did you clean the lifter valley?

Damn. Were they loc-wire gaskets (Fel_pro 1006)?

Trickflow Twisted Wedge with Satge II porting.

And did you clean the lifter valley?
No. :D

NO mine weren't for o-ring grooved, but I thought that it was a 1006. THe were Fel-Pro with the blue sealant groove on them.

So now I guess a 500 shot of the gas is out of the picture?

Yeah, the Fel-Pro 1011 gaskets look very similar to the 1006, but they don't have the lock-wire around the cylinders.

So now I guess a 500 shot of the gas is out of the picture?
Why do you say that?

What were the flow numbers on the stage II porting Brian?

I went back and looked at mine and they were 309int. 226exh. at .500 . Had a major brainfart the other day. Although, I was right on the 300/200 part! :jester:

Craig K.

Why do you say that?

Because in a major engine failure, you can distruy cylinder heads, and I am sure that you don't want to take that chance.

Brain, I hope the cam is not to big, at .050", you know you don't have Twisted wedge pistons, max lift is to be around .516" and the 0.050 is no more than .226". When you build your 427 make shure you get pistons for Twisted Wedge or get the new universal ones that you can switch from the Tsited wedge to a conventional in line head.

he'll be pushing it, but he should be ok. He is running the 'e' cam w/ 1.6 rockers which is a .498 lift

Yeah, I've seen people running F-cams with stock pistons and 1.6rr so I figured I'd be all right with the E-cam. However, I did check the PTV clearance just to be sure. :nice:

What were the flow numbers on the stage II porting Brian?
I'm not really sure. I got them used with no flow sheet. Hell, they could be just a polished up set of out-of-the-blox TW heads for all I know. :D

I really would like to know what they flow; that's why I posted a thread a while back asking if there were any places with a flow bench around here. I may actually send them off and have them flow tested when it comes time to put them on the 427.

I finally have my own set of roller rockers.

http://www.deepstageperformance.com/pics/twswap-07.jpg

Pretty blue. . . too bad they'll be hiding under the valve covers. :(

I think the heads are defective -- all the rockers are sitting crooked.

Here are the Fel-Pro 1262's on the GT-40 irons I pulled off. . .

No, I took my time on the whole swap (cleaned up a lot and painted some stuff) so it was pretty late when I got done. I did fire it up and let it idle for about 25 minutes (I'm sure my neighbors loved me) and the idle sounds a bit more choppy. I took a small bit of video; I may post later if I have a chance.

I would like to; however, I really need to tear apart the transmission and fix the 3rd and 4th gear shift problem. I may do that one night this week.

Yes, they make ones made out of Lexan. I've seen them on many show cars, but never on a street car -- I'm sure they wouldn't be clear for very long.

Hey Brian, isn't it time for a signature change? Or is the coupe losing another 40 pounds? :P
No, I'm currently carrying a gallon of water and a heavy toolbox in the trunk just in case. When I feel confrtable with the swap, then I'll remove that stuff... until then, I've only relocated that 40 pounds into my trunk. :P

Aside from my load problems (which I had before, but it is amplified with the head swap). . .

Glad you bumped this up. Brian; those heads are nice. The cleanup job is great too! Good work! Never really looked head-on at those "twisted" valves...they sure are awkward looking...but they work! Nice.
