Cheo and I took his car down to Dothan were they were having a Dyno day in a portable Dyno, the one we had at track day. This Dyno is pretty accurate. When I dyno mine in the summer, it was almost dead on. Well anyway, I load up the car, I do the 1st pulled and I looked at Cheo and big ass smile! I said what is it, 301hp and 369.7 ft lbs. I let it cool a bit, humidity is at 90%. Do the 2nd pull and 309hp and 379.7 ft lbs. The AOD that Mike build me and the torque converter were dead on, barely any slippage. There were a bunch of Mustangs with better combinations than ours and they could not believe it, all ask if we were spraying, nope, NA. One of them with better cam, 185 AFR heads 317 stroked, best was 320 and 370 ft lbs. A 300Z twin turbo, best was 380 and 370 ft lbs!! So to make it more interesting, we did another pulled to back it up, and it put down exactly the same numbers 309hp and 379 ft lbs. You know what was the best, everyone was pretty shocked and Cheo was all smiles, Priceless!

Edgar

A/F ratio was a dead on 13.9. pretty good for the street. If I would raise the fuel pressure a bit it probably raise the hp and ft lbs but did not wanted to mess with it. This car is really fun to drive on the street.

WOW. None of my n/a combinations ever made that much even with a tune. Including when I ran the same combo as Cheo. Best I ever made with a B cam, GT40 Irons, and cobra intake was 255 rwhp.

Just right for a fun car. I love the dyno's with other peoples car's on it. For the few smiles you see, Their are a bunch more thinking they had a stronger car than it really is.

The 300zxtt is a fun car also. Just a b!@$h to work on!!!

The dyno is a heartbreaker:jester:

Saw a guy in a big block camaro once who pulled up and said his 454 should be putting down 550rwhp........It made 418rwhp and he went home sad:D

I am beginning to think that Blake's dyno is off. My car dyno'd more on a mustang dyno than it did his. None of my n/a combinations ever hit over 300rwhp and according to him the highest he had ever seen a 302 dyno was around 310rwhp.

Unless I am the only who only looks at SAE numbers?

I had a 302ci with AFR185s,Vic 5.0 Int,Custom grind cam(under .560 lift) make 341 thru a 5 speed.

Heads were milled and compression was around 9.8:1 too

I hope you not saying my motor. On motor my car put down 450hp and 575 ft lbs in the middle of summer. With the juice at 225 it put down 680 hp and 700 ft lbs with an A/F ratio of 10:1, FAT!

The dyno is pretty darn close, because Cheos car ran a 12.99 at 107 with a race weight of 3200 lbs on regular street tires, and base on the weight of the car my numbers cam to be 299 hp, but I think the car is a bit more heavy. Anyway, Cheo was happy with it.

So my car ran 12.50's@108-109mph at a 3500lb race weight with 290rwhp according to Blake's dyno. Does that sound right?

Nope, base on the ET it should have a peak hp of 354 hp but your mph is saying that your hp should be 344hp, factor of fuel, weight etc.. Now say with that 290 hp and that weight, your car should had run 13.36 at 102.

On the calculator I used, I got between 398 & 414hp. Didn't give me a tq. # though.

I dont know when you dynoed your eng combo, but he told me years ago, that my 302 was the highest he had seen N/A..lol, 330HP...but my thing is dyno's dont mean shit....its only a tool.......the best dyno is the TRACK!!

Great job Egar and Cheo

oh I agree that it is only a tool. My cars have never been "dyno queens". I would never build a car just to put on a dyno and never do anything with it like I have seen a number of people do

I suppose (in a manner of speaking) that dyno numbers are as much of a bragging right as time-slips are. I have seen huge dyno numbers at GTR created by cars that still had stock suspension...and I gotta think how are those cars gonna hook at the track.

There is a "corrected" number and an "uncorrected" number...my guess is the crazy differences in dyno numbers are due to the error propogation of the slightly different combos, dynos, air properties, etc...

And to me....it sounds like the Torque-Converter is the reason Cheo's car did what it did. Give us the specs on that converter and where to buy!!!

Is a PTC 10" 2800 stall lock up. The tranny was built right, B&M shift kit, tranny has kevlar bands, upgraded AOD drums etc. Cheo can get it to stall about 2200rpm foot break and with the 295 50 street tires, Coopers he pulled a 1.82 60ft times. It has run a best 1/8 mile of 8.30 @ 84 mph and a 12.99 at 106. I think a bit more of fuel and it will run 12.80s.

Did that PTC converter fit on the stock flexplate (164t)?
