so far its looking like i will be trading in my 03gt for a 04 mach1 which is one of my favorite mustangs.... and i was wondering what the 4v NA motor responds to as far as upgrades go. So what mods would be best for it, im goin to do a JLT mid and catback, not looking to get crazy with this car unless she really responds to those well. what are the ball-park stats on the motors horsepower, torque, etc..... thanks matt

Basic bolt on's make around 320 hp to the wheels. Intake and longtubes is the best bolt on mods imo. Some 4.30 gears is also a great gear for the dohc.

 320 sounds sooo much better than 230!!!! the 3.90 gears in my gt i dont know if was just me or not but it felt like i lost power in the mid rpm range dunno if gears like that would do the same may just do 3.73 cause this car may only take a handfull of track passes

After doing some reading the last few days, I am actually considering longtubes on the 08 one of these days

I think you need to put a set of those "backwards" headers on it. :turbo:

You will enjoy it, longtubes are fun on the mod motors

Gears are going to be the best bang for your buck IMO.
Don't be afraid of a low gear, either. I've driven a 4V car with 4.10s and they should have come that way from the factory.
