I was gonna update my thread on the wreckage, but didn't like the title anymore....:banghead:

So....I did manage to get the glass replaced for a good price and it sat a few months with no progress. Well I finally got around to putting the MM C/C plates on it and a Steeda bumpsteer kit and did a quick string and level alignment. One of my brothers bought a fender for a belated birthday present and the other one just brought it up this past weekend.

Free Taiwanese fender & Kaenen hood.

Took a little bit of work to get the gaps close, but I believe it will work just fine with more adjustment. Nothing is fully tightened in the pictures and the hood is just sitting there. I believe I'll do some work on the hood to get the lines to match up in the front, but I think that will be all that's needed.

Hopefully not too much longer and I can re-focus my attention to the interior.

Yep, it definitely decreases the field of view from the driver's seat. :metal:

Hey, I am almost 5'10"... just puts me closer to the gas pedal! :metal:

All joking aside, it is possible that I'll be back on the road w/ fresh paint in the next few weeks. I don't think the Ram HD clutch is gonna be up to the task though....probably slap Steve's old 10 spline SPEC stg2 disc in it and say a prayer. :jester:

Yep, prob get everything fitted right and use the same break to get the fine-line right, then paint & buff off the car.

Well crap. I went through all the trouble of putting that fender on (knowing it was a 79-90) and the LX bumper extension trim doesn't fit. :banghead:

So....anybody have a lead on a straight 91-93 driver side fender? I see there is a 92 at the pullapart. I may run out there in the morning to see what I can find.

Progress is much slower than I had hoped, but its coming along. We did the first coat of sealer last weekend and I spent most of yesterday smoothing out the bumper & fender. Got the hood wet-sanded and put a final coat on it all.

Steve's car is now Vapor Silver Metallic and I pretty sure he's looking into a bronze-ish gunmetal color for his wheels now.

Everything is lined up and ready for final wet-sanding. Prob knock it out one night early this coming week, then tape & paper it Friday night and spray Saturday morning.

Well, we're still chipping away at getting this paint finished up. The bumper is finished, but we've still got to do the fender and hood. The weather has been bad as well as other stuff going on. But...as long as all goes as planned we should get it done tomorrow afternoon.

In the mean time I spent the day putting Steve's old tailpipes on my car. He's going to a 3" exhaust and he donated them to my cause. Seems a little quieter in the cabin, but haven't driven to see what it sounds like on the road.

Check it out

Everything is put back together...finally. Saturday - Installed some ES swaybar links, bled the rear brakes, fixed the cracked seat mount, & installed the gray/purple tweed seats you might see in the previous pics from this thread.

http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee355/forker45/IMG_1934.jpg

Steve's letting me borrow the seats until I get something a little more sporty. They are super-low mile seats and a night/day difference from what was in the car. Feels like I sit an inch higher with them compared to the worn out, broken one that I pulled out of there.

Did a quick rev clip, a walk-around, and a run through the gears to see what it sounds like on the internet.

Sorry to disappoint, but it's not in a park. :D

They're just storage trailers behind Steve's shop. It was the only spot I could get the sun at my back to take a few pics.

Well it took over a year, but the car is back on the road.

I've got everything except some sport seats (Corbeau GTSII) to finish out the interior. I'll update progress in the interior forum once I get to it.

Yeah, time flies. I put it down Oct 8, 2008.

I spent yesterday swapping out the clutch disc at Steve's. This morning I replaced the water pump to plate gasket because it was leaking. Everything is back to normal and hopefully this SPEC stage 2 disc will hold up to the gas. After all that I spent the afternoon just driving around. I was smiling the whole time.
