ok so jarod was right they are a pushrod motor, so next question are the studmount or pedistal mount?

if i lowered the rockers down a lil like .30 thousands you dont think it would help, pleas explain

Yes,it's a pushrod, pedestal mount setup, and the only way to lower the rockers is to grind/machine down the pedestal (NOT what you want to do!). VC gaskets *should* be the rubber ones from the factory. Me thinks it's either a loose rocker arm,or a weak lifer. My money is on a bad lifter with that many miles.

I agree. Put a set of lifters in it. That would be the only thing that could go bad

well here's the thing its nhot like a lifter has gon compleatly bad its not just one valve knocking all of the valves are chattering almost like a rockerarm is loose good thick oil quiet's them down for a lil while. but not indefinatly ill see about those lifters, but i just wasnt wanting to go into the motor because its more of a nuisance than a real bad problem
