I drove the car last night with no problems. I drove it around the block today and it felt a little sluggish so i go to pull it in my buddys shop and i cut it off outside of his shop. When I crunk it up and put it in gear it would not pull at all. It will not take reverse or any forward gear. It has a new PTC 2800 stall converter and it is a stock 4r70w? I really need some help I'm trying to get it back on the road by next week for Mustang week. Any help is greatly appreciated!:banghead:

It has new fluid and the filter is less than a year old. The linkage is good and tight, and it shifts. I can put it gear with the ignition off and it rolls freely in forward and reverse?

any auto will roll freely like that. do u have a trans cooler? if so pull a line and see if fluid comes out while running. did trans slip any while drivin

it really didnt seem like it was slipping but i got that new converter in there and and it revved a little higher to move the car. i thoght that just might be the looser converter

i am not sure how many times the converter slips in while u rotate on these. how far have u drove it?

if converter was not locked in it would have broke real fast maybe u need to have the converter checked out to. would hate to see u put it in another trans and it do the same thing. did u check and see if the filter is still on it right

2003-2004 Mustang Transmissions are 4r75w transmissions. These have a greater Torque capacity than previous models.

1998+ 4r70w's have a mechanical diode instead of the one-way roller clutch. This makes them stronger.

I just replaced the stock trans in my 96GT with a BC-Automotive 4r70w. If you need a rebuild or to buy one outright look them up. Darren is a great guy to work with and can be found on ModularDepot.com and Marrauder.net on a regular basis.

If there are no hard parts broken it would seem to me that it might be a control issue. ie VB, Solenoid, or an electronic issue. Check your wiring harnes as well for dry rot and cracking. When I was installing my Speed-Cal last night I found that the VSS(Vehicle Speed Sensor) wires were exposed because the rubber insulation had fallen off.

Is it throwing any codes?
