budget gt has burnt a 6al box and dura spark box up. in a short period of time. now he has a new 6al box to go back on it. but i do not want to put it on until i come up with some stuff to check. any ideals on what i need to check?

ok the dizzy should be ok i used one of those for a while. and wat kind of coil? Is it a stock F.I. Coil or a old round style coil?

no i ran a msd 6al with this type coil before with no problems. balast resister? on the main hot wire?

well nevermind mind. i forgot the msd dont hook up like a duraspark . It should be workin fine.mmmmm...... idk on my other car i ran a duraspark setup for a while and had no problems

yea checked and double checked. both boxes got hot (dura spark and 6al)

mounting it where the air box used to be. the ground is run to the battery.

thats where mine is mounted. no problems with it so far. and it shuld be grounded good. u got any pix of the set up?

Get the ground off of the battery and ground it to the frame rail

Isn't there 2 grounds? One goes to the battery and one either goes to the chasis ground ? Are you using the plug and play harness?

yeah. MSD offers a plug and play harness for the coil setup that was on the EFI foxbody's. Requires no splicing into the coil harness. Cost about $17

this one is carbed both coil wires come from msd.

Are the power and ground wires getting hot too or just the box?
if they are redo the leads
if not make sure your not hooked to the coil backwards
