A good bang for the buck would be either a "B" or "E" cam IMO.

Find out what's in it. F303 is not a bad camshaft. There are several other popular cams that work well with HCI 302's... Comp's XE274HR I think is one that rocks. The TFS stage 1 is not bad. I like the B303 with a 1.7 rocker better than an E303, bit that's not bad either.

Find out what you have first... there should be a part number on the end of it...some sort of numbers. We can decifer them and tell you what you have...go from there. :nice:

I have a b-cam in my car and i love it man and it should work well with the mods you have look in my signature at my mods. My car ran a 12.85 @ 105 with stock e-7 heads on motor havent got a good pass yet with the nos.

now the b cam is the smaller of the two cams right? i know the whole myth about the "bigger is better" deal but should i stay with this cam(if its really a fcam) would i make more power with a b or e nothing is wrong with my cam it just isnt as radical as alot of other cars with a f cam that i have heard. this is why i just cant seem to think that this motor has the f cam neither did the previous owner but hey i also have a holley 600, it did lope ALOT more with my bud 750dp on it..... now that i think about it it ran ALOT stronger too.... and it didnt run rich.....? hmmmm any thoughts guys?

Define "Bigger". The B doesn't have the lift the E and F have,BUT it has more duration than the E has. It also has a different LSA too.

ahh ilearn new things every day whick would be better for what i though the f cam was bigger all around lift duration lobe sep, everything. which is better for what i want to do ima probably do a lil nitrous till i get my junkyard setup done.

When you do the heads are you going with a bigger valve package?
I would recommend doing this with a port clean up, work the bowl area some too and a nice 5 angle valve job.
From there you may want to consider a performer rpm, and a 650 dp, as it should pull hard through 6k+ rpm.
I had a package like this with a B cam and it was real good for the street, with a decent tire / suspension package I ran 12.5's (with a 4.10)
I never had it dyno'ed but I feel it was a little stronger than what I have now, and I currently have 292 hp / 312 tq at the wheel.

If you need a cam I have brand new cam that has never been in a motor. Just let me know if you want it

B303 is on a 112º LSA. .480 lift (w/1.6 rocker)
E303 is on a 110º LSA. .498 lift "
F303 is on a 114º LSA. .512 lift "

TFS stage 1 is 112º LSA with .499/.510 lift.

XE274HR is 112º LSA but .555/.565 lift. More duration too.
I would recommend at least a 180cc intake port with this...many aftermarket heads come with .550-lift springs, which is not enough for this cam.

for the price of head work, why not ditch the E7's and find some gt40 or 40ps?

keep the f cam and quit playing around with e7 heads. Cam swaps are not worth much on a stock headed car. Save your money until you can afford to get a good set of aluminum heads

the heads are being done for free! bigger valves ect. i know they arent worth much but hey its better than having no heads on it at all! im in the market for some good heads but until then why not have them done for free!

thanks!

Blackcoupe on here ran a carb. 302 with ported E7's and I beleive an E cam. It was a pretty fast car. If he gets on here anymore, I'd talk to him. I want to say he was running low 12's, but I may be wrong
