I've never done brakes on one of these cars. I forgot about the rear calipers until I started working on them. What a biatch.

I've said it over and over. Go to autozone, get the tool!

Funny you should say that. I was gonna have the wife go by and pick it up on her way home and the kid on the phone said they didn't have it. I ended up running to Advanced. Of course, I then had to modify the one I bought(multi caliper tool) to work.

If anyone in the Hoover area needs to barrow one of the rear caliper sockets, I have one, just give me a ring.
Look good Brad, how do the feel?
Scott, what will you be doing on your car, and when? If you need a place to work on it give me a call, now I have plenty of room.

Thanks Craig, I am going to be going up to pauls though. The front end needs a good overhaul and quite a few parts replaced.

Guys, they feel great. My pads only had about 1/8-3/16 life left so the decreased caliper volume has made the pedal much firmer. Other than the burnish I haven't really seen what they would do yet but so far they feel pretty good.
The cadmium coating was gone by the time I got to work this morning.
Brian, yes, I am thinking about caliper paint. I was thinking about maybe doing silver instead of red so the finish won't matter quite as much. The home painted calipers I've seen haven't looked too wonderful.
