When it gets below freezing the cobra has had some cold start issues. It will run for about 3 seconds and then shutoff. Sometimes if you just give it alittle throttle it will stay running other times it doesn't matter.

It acts fine after it warms up alittle outside.

do you have a check engine light on?

Just for the rear 02's... Even with the cel reset, it still does it.

What intake is on the car?

My 98 keeps throwing a rear 02 code and has the same start issue. I think it is because the ecu goes rich when the engine light is on. This causes a flooding like issue, left over, raw fuel.

Called, the wife at 11 and had her go out and start it. Fired right up, first try! I guess the cobra doesn't like anything below freezing. LOL

Well, got home from work this morning and went to look at it. Did the same thing, so i disconnected the iat, nothing. Disconnected the maf and it fired right up...

Anybody got an idea as to why i can disconnect the maf(when it's below freezing) and the car starts fine, but with it connected it won't? Could the maf be bad and not throwing a cel? Could the iat be dirty and causing it?

Use a code scanner and pull the codes that will get you pointed in the right direction at least....

Most AutoZones will do it for free now days....or maybe talk to Lee F. and see if he has one. :D

only codes I get are for the rear o2's and a vacuum leak( cracked hose). Nothing for the maf at all.

Might be a dirty MAF sensor. Does it have a K&N, or similar air filter?

Yes it does eric!

Common problem for the MAF sensor filaments to get dirty from excessive filter oil. You can spray it off with some starting fluid (ether).
