smog bypass made car louder

i needed a new belt on the car so i went ahead and got one that would work on undrive pullies and bypass the smog pump. and to me it seems it made the car louder! it might be that i have drove the car in about 2 weeks but it just seems louder. has anyone else heard of this?

I don't think there is anyway that it can make it louder.

All an operational smog pump does is pump fresh air into the exhaust
