If you don't mind taking a chance at noise and premature gear-wear, I'm sure several places would do the job fast and cheap.

With that being said, I give my vote to Ryan Cloud. He's been a Ford tech for years and I believe he works at Hummer or someplace "high-end" now. Great mechanic and I know he'd done probably hundreds of gear setups. :nice:

Yep, labor only. With guarantee. I have a customer who decided to use someone else to save a couple of bucks, he had his gears installed last week and as soon as he drove it home had the whine. His installer played it off and claims that it is normal. Yeah right!

I know how you feel. I do not charge as much as I should.

I guarantee mine as well...... I had been charging $225 for disc brake cars and $200 for drum brake cars (any make). I didn't realize people were charging in the $300 range now

Ford Factory gear lube with friction modifier.

no preference on the brand. Technically, you don't have to use friction modifier again either unless replacing the clutches in the carrier.

With that being said, I usually throw some friction modifier on customer cars but never have in my own unless I was rebuilding the carrier
