I'm most likely upgrading to a 331 stroker motor.......

I'd like to hear pros and cons you might wanna provide.

3:73's will be going in and not sure what else.

tell me what y'all think.

I like it...but you already knew that.

I had a 331 in my black foxbody and it made plenty of power:D

I like the idea too..........but liking something is much less expensive than actually having it.

But.............we'll see.

Your motor is pretty fresh, right? I think you'd probably have more "fun for your dollar" with a Vortech. Later on when you want to turn the wick up on the blower and need to build a motor that will handle it, build a 331.

can the Hypereutetic pistons handle enough boost to make him happy?

Lee made 525ish rwhp in the Cobra with hypereutectic pistons.

I was thinking that too

Yes. Although I don't recommend it, I have a dyno sheet where I made either 532 or 536 on my stock 160k mile pistons..

I probably wouldn't go that far either, but 400-450 would probably be safe and a lot more power than he'd get out of a mild 331.

400 would be nice! i do not know much on the limits on the pistons.

I agree with that as well

I have entertained the idea of a Vortech but that might end up being more than I can afford and I am very reluctant to purchase a used one.

I am just in the beginning stages of investigation and I appreciate everyone offering opinions.

Im pushing over 550rwhp with my Hypereutetic pistons in my 351w. I have a friend making 430rwhp with a stock 95 mustang short block with about 130,000 miles on 9psi. he's running an f-cam, afr185's, and a gt40 lower intake with a box upper, and 42# injectors.
