ok this is on my 79 model lx with a 5.0. it has all fuel injection from like an 89.it has the v8 fuel lines from a 89. it has a trick flow external pump because of the 79 tank with no internal pump. pump is mounted on frame rail. ok problem is, when its cold the pump will prime and it will run untill it gets warm and then it quits getting fuel to pump. i have a little filter in between tank and pump to catch any debris out of tank. i thought maybe sender is stopped up so i took air hose and blew thru line into tank. still no prime. i am at a loss! here are some pix!http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l5/jonosranger/0417002150a.jpg

do you have a vent on the tank? if not u need one. you can also crack u gas cap open about a 1/4 turn and try it!

i need to check the vent but i took the cap completely off and it still does it.

done been through that with him. i have no clue. I thought bout what you said on the return bein stopped up. It could be possible cause old pump was rated at 40 psi and thats what it was at and new pump is rated for up to 80 psi and thats what it was at no matter where i turned the fpr. Im gonna take the line off later if i get a chance and try to blow thru it.

ok i fixed it. i believe it had a dirt dobber in the return line. i didnt notice it with the old pump cause it would only put out 40 psi and new pump will do 80 psi. anyway its fixed lol
