I am building a turbo kit for my car, I have a 1995 351w ford lightning motor stock bottom end. I have had a probe industries bottom end girdle sitting in the garage brand new in the box for about a year. If I were to install the girdle would I need to replace the main bearings if I don't get them mixed up or take them all the way off and just loosen the bolts and install the studs for the girdle? And If I do this does anyone know what oilpan and pickup tube I would need for this application.

I am wanting to make at least 600hp to the ground but 650rwhp would be even better I don't know what the stock block limits are but I may find out just wondered if I should go ahead and install the girdle or just wait for the stock bottom end to come apart and put it in the next motor. And the car is a 1995gt and will have a tubular k member as well. Would a 87-93 351w swap deep sump oil pan work?

the fox oil pan will work. i am also building a twin turbo sn95 with a lightning bottom end. the block should handle you expected hp or so i have been told by numerous people. i will find out before long. as far as the bearings go, they are not that expensive. i would just replace them and the rod bearings too. good luck with it.

ditto. you cant run a girdle in a stock pan unless the pan is modified

http://mastabeta.com/forum/images/smilies/orly.gif Yes, do tell us Dale. :D

Personally, I would sell the girdle and buy a nice set of aftermarket caps and ARP studs.
The 351W block should be just fine if your tune is right. :nice:

I agree with Coupe

As far as your bearings go, just check your clearance and
if that's good just re-torque and be done.

When I bought my short block from DSS I added the girdle and just had to find a pan with flat bottom in front of sump. The sn95 is more of a V shape. went to pullapart and got one off a lincoln or something like that. Fit with no problems.

if you can get the early double sump flat 351 pan the girdle will fit. You will just have to modify the pickup tube.....
