Here are a few pics of my SS, I finished up the install of the 2.8 Kenne Bell a couple of weeks ago.
A Flowmaster Catback is the only other speed modification right now. It dynoed 336 / 334 before the KB, and should dyno about 500 after
I plan to do a small cam and ported heads this winter and shoot for close to 550 rwhp.

I have lowered it 1 inch with Eibach springs, I also went with Black and Machined replica wheels in 20 x 9 with 275 Pirelli front and 315 Nitto Invo rear tires.
I blacked out the rear panel between the tailights and smoked the tailights and added the old school style SS badges front and rear. I also added the front nose stripe similar to the 67-68 Camaro SS. I

485/485

I baselined at 336/334, so I gained 150rwhp / 150 rwtq from 9 lbs. of boost

I have a LS9 cam (supercharged Z06 vette), Longtube Headers with high flow cats sitting here in my shop ready to be installed, but I am waiting till I get my 2600 stall before I start installing it all. shooting for 530 rwhp.
And I am considering a water/ meth kit ...that would get me to about 550 rwhp

Well, as some of you already know…my little cam swap snowballed on me.

My plan was to install a stage 2 blower cam and a 2600 stall converter and that was all.

But after I tore down everything I realized that I would be near the limits for the stock pistons and rods.

So I I sold my factory LS3 shortblock assembly and decided to get a forged shortblock.

My original idea was just to go back with a stock displacement 376, but for just a little more $$ I decided on a 427 cid forged stroker shortblock.

JRE – Pro Torque 2600 stall converter
JRE - Comp Cams Stage 2 Blower Cam
Comp Cams hardened pushrods
Edelbrock 2 piece timing chain cover
LS7 Lifters
LS2 cam sprocket, timing chain damper, valley cover, rear main plate, lifter guides
ARP crank bolt, cam bolts, torque converter bolts, flexplate bolts
Patriot Performance Stage 2 Ported LS3 heads with ARP head bolts
Patriot Performance Gold Springs with titanium retainers good for .650 lift
LS3 stroked out to 427 cubic inches – Callies Crank and Rods, Weisco Pistons, All ARP studs- bolts – built by Texas Speed
Injector Dynamics 1000cc Injectors (95 lb per hour)
Lingenfelter Dual fuel pump kit with controller
Aluminum Sheetmetal fabricated valve covers without coil pack mounts
coil pack relocation brackets and new MSD wires

While I was waiting on the shortblock to be built, I decided to do a few more things:

Relocated ABS module from engine compartment to inner fender
Removed bracket from strut tower for ABS
Re-routed brake lines
Lengthened ABS wiring harness
Removed battery cable brackets from strut tower
Re-routed battery cables
Painted complete underside of car and engine compartment with basecoat / clearcoat to match exterior
Polished Stainless Steel bolts for fenders and radiator support plate
Billet polished strut tower caps
AAC Headlight Halos
New 427 decals for nose stripe
Polished Throttle body by Advanced Plating
Chromed supercharger bypass tube by Advanced Plating
Chromed Supercharger throttle body adapter plate by Advanced Plating
Black Anodized Cross Drilled and Slotted brake rotors

Went over to Atlanta Performance and Fabrication yesterday to do a tune on my SS.

Last July my car dynoed 485 rwhp with 9.6 psi of boost (4” pulley) only mods was a Kenne Bell Supercharger and a Flowmaster catback.

Yesterday we had to remove the 4” pulley because we were only seeing 6.8 psi with it, so we tried the smallest pulley we had which was a 3-3/8” and we were seeing 8.8 - 9 psi. the SS did …605 rwhp.

I was wanting to run 12 psi on the street which should be around 660-680 rwhp, and do a few pulls on the dyno at 16 psi which should be over 700 rwhp.

I will talk to Kenne Bell this week and see what pulleys I need to get 16 psi, and I will probably just leave it at 9 psi for daily driving…that should be enough..LMAO

So final numbers yesterday …. 605 / 561 on 9 psi

update:

Not a whole lot to update on the SS really.
I did get a window tint ticket a couple of months ago in the SS.
I knew it was just a matter of time..LOL...My windows used to be 20% with a 50% front windsheild, the front windshelid is what caught the troopers attention.
So I ripped it all off and got the ticket signed off and tinted the car legal this time with 35% (actually tinted it myself...been a while since I tinted a vehicle)
I also plasti-dipped the wheels all black and added a red pinstripe on the outter edge of the wheel. a little different look for a while..and i can always peel the plasti-dip and the stripe off if i ever get tired of the look.
Just pissing around with little small stuff right now till I can get my lower pulley and turn the boost up a little more.

I agree about the stripe under the headlights!
The red pinstripe on the wheels is just a red vinyl stripe that I got off ebay. they make them pre-curved to fit certain diameter wheels. mine is 5mm wide for a 20" wheel. it comes to you in 4 pieces per wheel. pretty easy to install.

That's the same kind of stuff I have on my bike. Once in a while I'll notice part of mine trying to peel up, but it sticks back down. If it gets too bad I may have to buy another set...for a whopping $6. IIRC mine is 3mm for a 17" wheel.

I re-dynoed the car today with 12 #'s of boost.

Final numbers BOGUS..so I removed them.

We tried some 15 # pulls, but the belt kept jumping off ...Booooo !!!

since Last dyno (605 / 561) I added 3#'s of boost along with an 8 Rib Pulley setup and added a "Super Chiller" ...the chiller runs my intercooler fluid through a box that is tapped into my air conditioner to help lower the Inlet Air Temperature. We were able to lower the IAT by about 50 degrees more than usual and add more timing. Also I think my transmission was slipping a little bit last dyno becauue I didnt follow the correct fill proceedure and was almost 3 quarts low (didnt figure that one out till I got home after last dyno and was doing some test and tune on a deserted road)

thanks, they ride suprizing well. i purposely went with larger sidewalls than most of the guys do with 22's so that my ride quality wouldnt suffer.
the handling feels better too....not as lazy and heavy feeling..more like my GTO feels. these 22" are also lighter than the 20's I had, so im sure that helps too. i lost about 4 lbs of weight per wheel and tire combo :chug:

I think they definitely look better than the old wheels... but those 22's sure make the Brembos look tiny...

Any brake upgrade options?

A few updates:

Did a 6 speed automatic transmission to 6 speed manual transmission conversion on my car the first 2 weeks in May, barely finished in time before my next two shows.

Won 2nd place at the F-Body Gathering 17 in Atlanta 5/26/2013
Won 1st Place at the Chevy High Performance Nationals Show 6/2/2013

6/2/2013 Dropped my car off at Vengeance Racing in Cumming, GA to have my shredding, slipping, throwing supercharger belt issues fixed for good, and to have the car re-tuned now that it is a manual trans.

Felt weird leaving my car for someone else to work on....I have never done that before.

OH....and my car made it into another magazine " Camaro Now" Summer 2013 page 28 !!!

What kind of power difference did you see at the wheels with the manual trans?

Mike will get you hooked up. He is the man.

He is the same guy that tunes my car and my brother's car.:metal:

Got the car back last Friday from Vengeance Racing

Here is the short version:

Biggest problem was corrupt files in the ECU that kept the car from going over 5300 RPM, but Mike@VengeancePCM finally found the problem and fixed it.

Supercharger belt is no longer a problem was tested to 7k rpm numerous times :metal:

After all of this…..I really believe that my last dyno sheet was a Fake! (long story about that…I think the guy that dynoed my SS the last time made up the numbers so his name would look good, because he knew that my car was coming out in the magazine…..but, im not going to worry about it since he is out of business now)

This tune is a thousand times better than my last tune !!

Sooo…..the REAL numbers are…. 707.59 rwhp and 686.50 rwtq @ 15 psi on 93 octane this was with 95 degree air in the Dyno Room.

Here is the Dyno sheet:

So I got home with the car from Vengeance about 3pm Friday afternoon…. Unloaded it out of the trailer and put it straight onto my lift for some new parts. Lol

Oh…..speaking of my trailer …. Someone tried like HELL to steal my 28’ enclosed trailer while it was sitting across the street from Vengeance. They cut the lock off the sdghasgaso, and beat the crap out of the second lock I had where the ball goes but they couldn’t defeat it so I guess they gave up.

I started working on the SS about 7pm Friday night and by 4pm Saturday afternoon I had finished up. I removed the 3.27 rear end gears and installed a 3.91 ring and pinion set. I also installed some QTP electric exhaust cut outs ;)

Put about 120 miles on it Saturday night and Sunday morning then on my way home Sunday afternoon about a mile from my house I shifted into 4th gear and the clutch pedal stayed on the floor. UGHHH

Removed the Transmission Monday afternoon and found that the Slave Cylinder (some people call it the hydraulic throw out bearing) had overheated, seized and puked all the fluid out. So I ordered a new one, and also….I didnt really like the Monster Stage 5 single disc clutch and lightweight 18 lb billet flywheel that came with the 6 speed stuff that I bought used from another Camaro guy, so while the trans is out, I removed and sold the whole clutch/flywheel assembly yesterday.
Ordered a new RPS Street Slayer Twin Disc Carbon clutch with Billet 28 lb flywheel to put back in.

Now just waiting on parts to get here and get this thing back on the road.
