i just got a a9l with some kind of contraption in the end where the harness plugs in and no name ,no numbers, not real sure what it is or does. ant help would be great. thanks.

it just slides in like a module no wire on the outside or external plugs

It's a SuperChips sandwich connector....it intercepts the EEC-IV signals and changes them based on what is programed in the chip and then sends the modified signals to the engine.

We used to gut those and use them to datalog before all this new fancy stuff came out....

That depends on what kind of crap you are comparing it too......:jester:

On a stock 5.0 HO engine it will give moderate performance. About like bumping up the timing & adjusting the fuel manually with an adjustable fpr...

But with the sandwich connector you do not have to worry about the EEC-IV adapting to the preset changes that are made in the chip.

On an engine that has been slightly modified it is nothing more than a paper weight.....

Or you can gut it and make your own data logger....:D
