Finishing up the back of Jon's GT...we were looking for something subtle to set her apart from other Mustangs so we've done a few special things to her :D

Yeah, Jason needs credit too(especially since bringing the idea to reality was all him).....we think along the same lines and ideas are always being tossed around....simplifying things makes things cleaner. Jon wanted to bag the wing and we just started tossing around ideas to clean things up. There are more things to come......One of the major changes you can't see in the pics and will have to look for in person.

I really like the side scoop look...looks factory and brings a little bit of the 60's to the '03 design...Ford should have done that from the start!

ChipR4cam
04-06-2005, 08:40 AM
I've always like the shaved side scoop look. I would probably do it to my car if it ever gets painted, or go the easy way out and put the Bullitt scoops on it.

It's nice that ya'll hire "special people" to do some work for you. (1st pic)

NightHawk756
04-06-2005, 10:58 AM
I love the scoopless rockers, how much would that run?I'll let Paul or Jason answer that one. But it's gonna be pricey. You have to cut out the old recession for the scoop, then weld in metal to fill the large hole, then fill it in and prime. Then the rear quarters and doors have to be painted or blended to match the new paint. ;)

We had been discussing some other ideas off and on that I think we are going to go ahead with now as well.

besides the car isn't really THAT bad, i have fixed ALOT worse.....

:werd:

This is why I love pics and getting reactions....for most who don't deal with things like this is looks really bad to see everything from the firewall forward missing. The rear quarter panel was a ton more work to replace than the front end....considering how much time Jason spent on the rear quarter to this it is nothing....This car drove under it's own Power Wednesday with the front end crumpled and as of this morning(Friday) it has the new rails, towers and core support welded in place.

Also consider that we take a car farther apart than any regular body shop would....I doubt any shop would have removed the dash but because the firewall was being welded to Jason wanted to make sure he could get everwhere for both inspection and safety of what couldn't be seen with the dash installed.

...And sadly most shops would not have done the repair properly either....I have seen too many Mustangs half assed put back together. But most shops are worried about turning the $$$ really fast and want it in and out, Ofcourse we have to eat too but we would rather take the time to do it right and turn out a nice finished product...when finished you will never be able to tell this car was repaired.

There are still a lot of good shops out there but they are few and far between it seems :shake:

........ There's not going to be anything run-of-the-mill about this car. SVP is taking a damaged car, and turning it into a (better than factory) work of automotive art. I have complete confidense in Paul and Jason, Jason's quality of work is professional in every sense of the word.

... run-of-the-mill  :P

You didn't read that right. I said if my car was run-of-the-mill (i.e., 1 of a billion GT mustangs on the road), and it was wrecked like that, I'd just take the cash and get me another.

It's your car, I'm sure jason & paul will make it nice :nice:

1sicklx
04-08-2005, 01:37 PM
;) no, I read it right, and understand where you're coming from. We just look at things differently.

I look at the wreck as an opportunity to take something considered "run-of-the-mill" and turn it into something that is truely one-of-a-kind (which I could never had done if it hadn't been for the wreck). While taking the money and splurging for an 03 cobra or 05 gt would be nice, I wouldn't be able to afford to do any kind of mods to them because of the extra debt. And therefore I would have a car that (while unwrecked) is still just "run-of-the-mill"

We just hold different points of view. ;)
