I finally picked up a Mustang. The previous owners did a lot of work to it, but a lot of it is just not my style and will be getting swapped sooner or later.

Sounds like a pretty nice ride. You got any sound clips? Im interested in hearing what it sounds like through the stock catback.

its prolly quiet. I had some stock 96 gt mufflers on one of my foxs and it was really quiet. it was kinda nice too cause you could go out and raise hell and the neighbors couldnt here you. lol

I forgot to add that it was tuned by James Henson but the previous owner had a "cruising tune" put in it. I'm gonna go ahead and throw a 255lph in it and have him re-tune it.

I don't have any sound clips yet, but I'll try to get some tonight when I get home. Its not ungodly loud, but it has a good sound. I just need a little bit more. At interstate speeds (70-80) it is nice and quiet.

This sounds a lot like Richards old car.

I bought it from a guy named John Ward in Pelham who said that he bought it from a friend. For some odd reason I didn't take any engine pics when I was cleaning it...

thanks! first order of business is to fix the odometer on it and my buddy's orange 96 that you see in the background. Ive also gotta fix the body to window weatherstripping that you can see in the drivers side that is torn.

theres a 94 or 95 I think it was in Albertville that was either Laser Red or Toreador Red for $2800 it just had some gay looking Altezza/Euro lights.

Pretty sure that is Richards car, a lot of work went into it.

You can replace the odo gears, there is a guy that makes them (i think in Virgina).
DO a search on it, we have talked about it on here a few times.

I saw the pics that John had of it with the cowl hood and he said that the Flowmasters were just too loud for him...

Im just going by the list that John gave me of mods.

I'd love to get together with both of you so y'all can enlighten me on what I might not know about it.

I bought the car late 03 from MPS in Winder, Ga. During my ownership, I installed a heater core and carpet. I barely drove it. I bought it to build a turbo street/heavy strip car out of it. Lost interest and traded to Richard in 04 I think.

In 2009 ( I think), myself and another guy that used to post here built a 306 with all the stuff you have in your mod list for it. So unless John put another shortblock in it, we did all the engine work to it.

I really hope that its still the 306 you built and not some LRS crate engine. its painted Ford Blue and it has the Mustang Powered by Ford valve covers on it, the filler has an elbow welded on to it to clear the intake manifold though.

I worked on it some as well, can't remember what though :jester: Believe it was the springs

That sounds like the engine we did. the block that Richard bought (or that we bought for him) had been painted blue by the machinist.
Sounds like he changed the covers out.

LRS has them for $35 for both gears or odometergears.com has them for $25 each. Im gonna get an order up and get it all at one time...

I bought mine from odometergears.com in about 2004 (IIRC) have worked just fine since then.

Hey I worked on that car too, Richard, Tommy and I put the intake on the original engine (also about 2004 or so).

Well, I stopped by Henson Performace today before work to talk to James and see if I could get John's dyno sheets... I have to say that I'm a little dissapointed, but at least I have some base numbers to work with now.

it is because of the auto, if the car was a 5 speed it would easily hit 300

This. Probably make just over 300whp with a 5 speed.

...but probably faster with the auto. :D

just a little update, I fixed the non-functioning odometer and replaced the gauge lights with LED's as well as the lights in the HVAC panel. I also fixed the weatherstripping around the driver side window on the body. Next up is going to be either the passenger side power lock switch or a hammer shifter.

Sweet looking ride! You planning on going to the big mustang show at the Town and Country Ford dealership in Bessemer on April 16 ?

RedSuperRanger23
04-06-2011, 10:19 AM
I'm gonna have to check the schedule at work and see if I can take off... otherwise I'll be there but I won't get to stay long... and I wont be in a Mustang. I was at the cruise-in at Alabaster last Saturday though... I was "sick" lol.

Yea I didn't make it to Alabaster or Gadsden I had a fuel pressur regulator issue, if you can't make it to the show at town and country there should be one sometime this month in fultondale I think

RedSuperRanger23

yeah, all these shows and cruise-ins happening this month are killing me since I don't have weekends off.
