I was looking at a set of spintech. Are the good quality for the price and do they sound good on a mild modified car. I'm looking for that high pitch raspy sound let me know you guys opinion on this please. Oh and i have flowmaster 2 chamber on it now.

BTW, I used to have a video clip of the Pro-XS on my old 302, but I can't find it. I originally posted it in the following thread, but it not up on the DSP server anymore. Maybe someone on here has it saved on their computer and can re-post it?

EDIT: I found the video on my computer at work and I uploaded it to the server. Keep in mind that the video in the following thread has no tailpipes, whereas the ones below do.

You can kind of hear them in this YouTube video, but you have to tune out Joseph's Cobra.... the Borlas are the real high-pitched, racey sounding exhaust.

On a side note, I'm not as impressed with the 3" Borla Pro-XS exhaust on my 418. I like the sound, but it's not as high-pitched as the 2.5" with the 302.
However, I'm not sure if it has more to do with the diameter of the exhaust or the size of the motor... or likely a combination of both.

Here's a video of the 418:

yes I do have spintech on mine, they are the race spintech (black). I had bullets on my car and i was trying to quiet the car down, well, i dont think it did much, but there is a diff in sound at High rpms.. After atlanta I'll probably go back to my bullets. Besides the race bullets, the spintechs are the best sounding muffler followed by the old style flowmasters..

:werd: The 302 setup was definitely the best sounding Mustang I've ever heard.

no i dont..

foxlake do great work!! you cant go wrong with them..but if you go with a 347, make sure its not the boss block and and if you use a stock block make sure its 0 balanced or 28oz..preferrably 0 balanced

Borla! I have the magna flo on the svo now and it sounds super! 3" single for a 4 banger is noise that I love to hear now. And it is a side exhaust!
Borla is the best that I have heard on any V8!

1 3/4 LT headers, 3" xpipe, and full 3" out the back with Borla Pro XS mufflers on my 363 sounded good

Another vote on the Borla's. Italian's coupe sounded badass with those and the 418. The video doesn't do them justice. If my Lightning didn't already have a full exhaust on it, I would've put Borla's on it (I still might later).

I ran borla's with an x-pipe on my 93. Great muffler on the street somewhat docile at low rpm's and screams when you are at WOT

I love the sound of my spintechs! I run Mac P-specific shorties into a 2 1/2" o/r x-pipe, then I used the factory tailpipes. I used to have the exhaust dumped right at the mufflers, but it was way too loud. Anyway, it's all subject to your opinion, but I find it much more aggressive than an h-pipe w/ flowmaster setup.

I had a set of spintechs sportsmans with a X-pipe and they sounded awesome! I had turndowns with un-equal length headers and when I sold the car I pulled the muffers off and put a set of flows on it to sell it because I wanted to keep the mufflers. lmao. I still have them in the basement and I plan on running them on my black coupe I;m fixing to build. I wish I had a sound clip of my car but I don't. It sounded a lot like flows at idle or driving around. Not quiet but close but when you stabbed off into it it sounded different and it sounded FREAKING AWESOME! I loved it! I woould say SpinTech. No wait I would say go with Borla because I want my car to sound different than yours! lol J/K!

believe it or not.........my '98 has Ford stamped mufflers........

It's the most unusual sound I've ever heard.....I cannot describe it but to say it aggrivates me and they will be changed when I do the new exhaust system......
