I have a 87 f150 4x4 with 302 that i am swapping with a 93 351w. I am going through the 351 and wanting to build a torque engine. Any ideals on how to up the tq? Would gt40 heads help or hurt? I know i can't do a cam because the SD fuel injection. Been thinking about putting carb on it but just don't yet. I am going to deck the block to get my quench pad right. I want it all to be at low rpms, no more than 4500 or so.

Put a 7.3 powerstroke in it! Mine makes a lot of torque at 3200rpms:D

you will have to do a cam to get torque.
There should be some SD friendly cams out there since a torque cam usually doesn't change the profiles much. Do some research on competition cams 'RV' style

I have searched. The cams that won't affect the SD is not worth enough to fool with.
