Cleaned the MAF? And verified that it's functioning properly (maybe try one from another car)?

That picture is clearly the headlight fluid reservoir. :yup: ;)

he has put a new maf, pulled the intake and look for leaks, and fuel filter. he said it idles weird to. said it just falls on its face when he gets on it. he said it has blue injectors in it???

Blue injectors are 24#'s, and that pic almost looks like an intercooler pump.

If he has replace all that, then its either the ecu or blown head gasket.

Check the voltage at the TPS and make sure it's around .95-.98 volts.

Verify problem with a KNOWN good MAF. The symptoms are 100% MAF failure.

The pic is the smog pump

IMRC actuator is failing.

Its the control unit that sits under the intake that controls the butterfly valves that open up the 2nd intake valve on each cylinder at 3250rpm. I'd almost put money on it. Mine went bad on my 96 and the dyno looked like an EKG all the way up to 6k, and it took almost 30sec to get it there. Mine didnt idle weird though that i can remember

I was thinking that would could be a problem as well. I would just delete it and the butterflies and call it a day

You can delete but unless you got gears (4.10+) its low end is gonna suck.

Put some boost on it, that will help :)

Forgot about the fact it was a Cobra with IMRC.

Good catch, Scott. :nice: I completely forgot about IMRCs.

Looks like that smog pump isn't hooked up...

Any MIL (Check Engine) lights? What are the codes? If the MAF is failing, it will run like crap. If the SMOG/Emissions system isn't properly working or leaking unmetered air, it will run like crap. If it doesn't "see" the rear O2's, it can run like crap. If the IMRC failed you can wire them open and it will run OK, but it should idle slightly rougher than stock around 600-700 rpm.

The MIL light bulb could be out so I would hook a reader into the OBD port and see what codes are stored.
