Ok, this has surely crossed some of your minds given the relative affordability of the create engine, but has anyone really dug into what all would be needed to make this type of swap a reality?

I've read about it a little, and I've yet to find anyone who got it to work well. Since the computers and electronics are so different between the SN95s and the new 5 liters, it isn't exactly a direct swap.

definitely have to have a complete wire harness. There is a guy on S197 forums that put a 5.0 in an earlier model S197 a few years ago and a good bit of stuff that had to be done even in that car. Of course once he got it tuned he made around 440 to the tires and went high 10's in the 1/4

Seen a few swaps into "5.0" foxbodies with success, so it's possible. Friend of mine is putting one into a '93 Cobra as we speak. Gonna run " Coyote Stock" class racing. :metal:

From what little I've read on the topic, a few people have ran into low rpm drivability issues and stalling at idle. At least one of these cases was due to the owner using an aftermarket MAF without getting the car tuned. Something that really should have been common sense imo.

One of my best friends who lives in Colombus, GA is putting one in his 93 Summer Edition Convertible with the 4r70W swap that PA Performance offers, trans came in the other day and he's had the brand new 5.0 motor for a few months, Kmember, control pack from Ford, I can't wait to see it done, it's going to be badass, knowing how he puts cars together it will be super nice!

Clean fox. Is he going to need a custom driveshaft for the setup?

Yes he is....and he is ANAL about his cars...his last one (07 GT vert) was SPOTLESS! Had the brembos, GT500 rims on it, American Racing longtubes and xpipe, all the interior LED's changed out to a blue color, all kinds of other little nick nack stuff done and NEVER SAW rain while he had it. He traded that vert for this yellow one and $10K so he had a pretty good head start on all the parts he needed.

oh ya it's going to be nice when he gets done. That red vert he did (that's on his cardomain site) was BADA$$!!!!!! stock hood/ponies, A/C, auto and all ran 10.80s and drove home from Reynolds to Columbus...thing was SWEEET!
