Anyone up to speed on these cars? When do they come out?
I was reading about them on fox news website. Although I don't think I am going to buy another stang, these seem really sweet

They just started building them. The first magazine road tests came out on the 17th.

For about a year I have seen reports that the new Mustang was going to be up to 300 pounds lighter than the 2014. This is my take after reading 4 of the first road tests:

The GT is actually almost 200 pounds heavier than the 2014 (what a porker).
Even with 435 HP the GT runs about like a 2014, CD test(0-60:4.2sec/1/4 mile:12.7).
The GT with the performance pack stops well (107ft from 60) 3 ft shorter than the 2014.
Of course with IRS it handles and rides better.
They improved the price tag....fully loaded Premium GT over 45K.

I may start looking for a PP, Glass roof, Premium, 2013-14 GT.

Yeah, I was shocked at the price point. I do like the looks, the tech improvements ( launch control, factory line lock, etc)
I am interested to see what becomes of the new 2.3 turbo model

I love the power numbers and options on them, but I'm on the fence as far as the looks are concerned.

Saw several of these new 2015's at SEMA. I didn't drive/ride in one, but friend of mine is with a media company and drove each model. Said the interior is amazing...much better than the previous car (which I thought had a nice interior). He also said the 2.3 turbo is fantastic, but he recommends the auto because it feels faster with the torque converter being in a sweet spot right off idle... the stick shift version felt weak down low and needed some RPM to get into boost.

So, one of my coworkers had a v6 model as a rental while I was in Tulsa this week. I didn't get to ride or drive it, but the interior has a major wow factor!!

I stopped at Sunny King a couple of weeks ago and TRIED to look at a V6 one they had, but didn't get a good look at the interior. It was already dark, and a young salesman appeared out of nowhere and started the sales pitch routine and asking a thousand questions about the Lightning. :fuss:

If you get a chance to drive one do it. While picking up some parts I asked my buddy who works in the parts dept if he could swing a test drive. We drove a 2015 automatic Gt and I was more than impressed with the overall performance of the car. I'd buy one today if they weren't high as giraffe nuts.

That engine is amazing. I've been considering picking up an '11 or '12 for a DD.

Yep. 11's are getting cheap.

Yeah the 5.0 is great!
For me, the s197 seats are its downfall. Hard, no comfort, and zero support! But the 2015's are much better!

I'd love to do a Coyote swap on my coupe.

A couple months ago I test drove a Premium Automatic (played with the "Flappy Paddles"), I thought it drove fine. The interior is unbelievable (coming from a 2000 GT). It was quiet, except for the exhaust burble. The handling was very good. It did drive like a heavy car. Love the motor. All I can say about the brakes is WOW! I have a BMW Z4 3.0i that stops from 60 in under 110 feet and the new Mustang stops like someone threw out an anchor!! I fully intended to get a 2015 until I looked at the price....yikes! 42K+

I may just keep my car for a while longer and get a BMW X3 to haul the grand kids in and get a used 2015-16 down the road (if they turn out to be good cars).
