I read an article on an hks turbo install on a rsx, only dyno'ed 250 or so.

The Cybernation kit is the one that guys drool for. their stage 1 kit at 7psi makes 275 whp.

there's one of their cars that's daily driven with a forged bottom end and headwork that at 25 psi put down 439whp 312tq.

Seems a bit off to be making 100 extra hp on only 7psi from a tiny motor. What different about theirs?

The guardian ECU is golden.

Looks like you need to lean that puppy out, or are 4-bangers not happy leaned?

that's probably safe factory rich goodness.

Buy the turbo kit and show me otherwise :D Those gains sound too high. And even then good luck making it hook.

Yeah, do it Drew. I'll put my 276whp against your 275whp. :burnout:

It'll be a loooong time before any mods get done to the car. First off, it'll be at least another 42K miles (warranty). A race header or coilovers may find their way on the car but not much else. Mabey an ECU upgrade.

Honda tunes rich from the factory for more headroom. This lets guys put aftermarket cams or intake/exhaust work on the car and still be able to safely take it up to 8500 rpms and not damage anything. It's got an 11.0:1 compression ratio on the Type S so at those RPM's, it's probably a smart move.

Brandon, traction is the main thing that tells me not to get it. I'd be happy with a race header and a decent tune and mabey cams. If tuned right, it should make around 230 to the wheels.

Toda racing makes a kit with cams, valve springs and ECU reflash that's worth about 45 hp. Too bad it's $2350 :( So I could easily see that along with their $1100 race header being on the car later down the road and possibly a supercharger but guys with 220+ hp say that without decent tires, traction is non existant so it might not even be worth it.

Plus for the cost of the header, cam kit and ecu, I could probably get an entry level turbo kit and make more power.

 Gotta love imports - torque is over 100 less than horsepower.

:lol:Yeah? Well what was your Torque?? I made 198rwhp and 267rwtq. Compare the torque numbers and it's a huge difference! ;)

Gotta love pushrod V8's!!

Yep, that's the sound of 400 rwhp on a half-shaft. That high 12 second run was taking it easy on street tires. :P

. . . and his first pass ever at a drag strip. :yup:

:werd: Live axle swap, gears, and slicks and it would be in the 11s I'd bet.

Brian and Chip have both driven my car, and neither of them could do better than I have. I know every car is different and it takes some getting used to, but I don't think my driving is that bad - I think traction is that bad. ;)

In my defense, I never got a clean pass out of the three. Going from a Tri-ax to a stock shifter really messes with your driving ability. . . and hell, I didn't know I had to turn the traction control off. :fuss:

I have a Tri-Ax in there now, and haven't been back to the drag strip with it (or atleast I don't think I had it installed yet last time we went). I haven't been out there with the urethane IRS subframe bushings, either.
