Long tubes + O/R X-pipe + Borla XS mufflers = :metal:
This combination is not only quiet, but it screams above 3500 rpm and has distict sound that I have yet to hear on a Mustang. It's hard to describe; very racey sounding and not obnoxious at all. :metal:

I think 5 liters sound great with X pipes. With the racey tone of the Borlas, I bet it sounds awesome. :nice:
What brand X is that? VRS?

No, it's some generic pipe I found on Ebay. It was brand new and only $77 shipped. :nice:

Wow. Sounds like a good deal (I'm guessing it fit since you've already posted about how it sounds). :nice:

Yeah, there was one issue that I came across. The holes on the flange that mates with the headers weren't wide enough apart. I fixed it by grinding out the holes outward.
I knew there was a possibility of some fitment issues; I'm just glad it was an easy fix. :yup:

Does it sound like mine or does the h/c/i change the sound on yours?

Get a sound clip. :jester:
I loved my o-r X pipe...even with 2 chamber flows I thought it sounded awesome. Very low and rumbly at low rpm but higher pitch and exotic at high rpm. I had old and young alike ask me if I had a big block or tell me it sounded like a winston cup car.

"Screams" is a good description. I'm running a Dr. Gas X and 2 chamber flows. I love the sound. I went the Xpipe route about 10 years ago, when the Xpipes first came out.
I actually had guys on their hands and knees looking under my car, trying to see why my exhaust sounded so different than everyone elses. :D

:stupid::stupid::stupid:
And the revs sound like 50% more than actual.

The best thing I can compare it to is a hot 1000cc crotch rocket when it gets "on the pipe". Hot damn, people don't know what's going on when they hear something with 5000cc's making the same sound... :lol:
