Cheap Route: Stick some Dynomax Super Turbos in place of the flowmasters...better power and much quieter.

Any straight-through muffler will be quieter at cruise, as will an X pipe. :yup:

Marc, I don't know all about that but I am glad I took your advice and did what I did to my car. Made a good ride great. Thanks for the input.

when i bought my 89 stang it had 1 chambers with tail pipes and an H pipe, sounded like a chevy truck with glass packs!

Now I have some borlas not sure which one, i just know they are quiet at an idle but sound good at wot, a buddy said sorta like a street bike or something, if ya can understand what im getting at. Personally I like em but would like to have something a little louder, since I put my cam in I want to hear it. I have had flowmaster 2 chambers for every like everyother mustang owner, but I want something differant now, I love that FM sound but its time for something differant BUT WHAT?
A buddy said some edelbrocks? What do they sound like?

While I agree, I've yet to hear anything sound better than the FMS shorties + DRG/OR/X + AT and a nice loping cam.

MAC PC + FPs (4.6) > FMS S + DRGX + AT >MAC PC + FPs (5.0) > *

I had FMS shorties, pro-chamber and flow paths for a few years on my 93 and it sounded good. Thought going to the 3 chambers flows with the pro-chamber would help the famous 2k rpm drone and it did not. 3 chmaber flows with an x-pipe help the drone some and now the Borlas without tailpipes helped significantly. Can't wait until the tail pipes go back on

Chambered mufflers are going to drone. Just the nature of the muffler. Personally, Flowmasters are kinda boring to me. Everyone either has a set or used to have a set. I've yet to hear a setup that I liked better than my ProChamber + Borla Stinger catback (XR-1 race mufflers). Yeah, it's loud as hell outside, but it's not bad at all inside the car and it has a sound like no other Mustang on the road. When I got to long tubes, I will most likely swap to a Dr. Gas, and I expect it to be quieter at cruise.

Long tubes will fix the drone!
