Lee, got a buyer for your 42's yet?

Steven(my friend with the procharged 87 GT) might be interested in them as he doesn't like the 24's at 92 psi(6:1 fmu) and is thinking of going to a tweecer.

Ummm, is he aware that those injectors are on the verge of locking up at that pressure?

What was he thinking trying to get away with that small an injector with a power adder?

I remember back in the day, the entry level Vortech came with the FMU so you could use stockers...and 24's were the upgrade. With some big pressure, they'll support around 400 hp...but that 96 psi pressure is ridiculous. :shake:

Yeah, but that was "back in the day"... there are a lot of things that were done a few years back that just seem crazy today.

:werd: True. It's a reason there were more head-gaskets blown too. We experimented with a Vortech S-trim in 1993 on a 1993 Cobra. Had the stock injectors (24) but looking back: it did seem to have Head-Gasket issues

No I do not Brad. I will entertain offers in the $250 -275 range when I round up some Siemen 60's

Why so big? Can you not get away with 50s?

Everyone says that 60#'s are easier to tune with.
Also I have been seeing 60# much cheaper than 50# or 55#

Thank brian, we are well aware.

The FMU came with the kit. That's why.

I have 16 30lb injectors I can get rid of :jester:
A little welding on the intake and some custom fuel rails and they would mount right in there :jester:

No supercharger kit comes with injectors.... that doesn't mean you should use the ones you already have. The FMU is used to increase fuel pressure with boost in order add fuel in the absence of a tune. It's NOT there to compensate for smaller injectors. :shake:

So you would use a 6:1 FMU FMU disc with 42 lb injectors? :nono:

We originally thought he would only make about 6-7 psi with his 9 psi pulley. He ended up making 9 psi. And since he has a coupon for a 11 psi pulley he wants to upgrade.

You're not telling us anything we didn't already know.

to further explain Jeff.

My 42's are seeing 100-105 % duty cycle at WOT. Optimum is below 80%. I don't think that going up to a 50 would be enough.

Not that it really matters since you guys know he needs larger injectors, but I am sure he could get way with a lot lower base fuel press than the 38 psi it is sitting at now.

Oh and Brad I put my MAF and injectors in the for sale section

His starting FP was about 36, not 38. But I may be mistaken as well, it might have been lower.

Thanks Lee, Are you still up for selling just the injectors by themselves? I'll ask Steven tomorrow.

Won't your buddy need a MAF? Or does he already have one cal'd for 42's

Well I was basing that off of what you said about him seeing 92 psi. (6:1 fmu ='s 54#'s of addtional fuell press under boost) 92 -54= 38psi

He didn't seem interested in the MAF. Sorry. He's actually gonna go the Tweecer route. He's been researching it a lot lately.

Oh yeah, sorry, I was sondering where you got 38. Actually, the calculations we did actually came out to about 6.2:1 for the FMU.

He is still gonna need a MAF whether he uses a Tweecer or not. I'll sale the injectors for $250 and keep my MAF then. (I'll just sendt it back to Pro-M for a recal) :nice:
