I'm gonna guess mini-tubbed. I've been talking to him about cam selection for my motor. He's the one making 888hp on an F-cam!! :metal:

Why don't you just pm him??

Doesn't look mini tubbed to me. Get the right wheel b.s. and roll the fender lip :nice:

Doesn't look mini tubbed to me. Get the right wheel b.s. and roll the fender lip :nice: Yeah, he definately had to roll the fender lip. The only way it's not mini-tubbed is if he banged the piss out of the inner fenders(the one on the back side of the tire) or cut 'em. Because I wasn't running a tire that wide on mine and I was really close to the inner fender. ;)

Same here. My 295/50/15s are really close to the inner fender and my 28x10.5s will rub. I use a 5/16" spacer when I race...

Mine don't I have run 26x10.50 and not exprience any rubbing. I do a little now with the 27x9.50 hoosiers but its mostly because of the 27" tall tire

Yeah, my 28x10.5s rub but I can run my 26x10.5s w/ no spacer just fine. I even raised the C/Os for the 28s...?

:yup: Actually, I prefer a corner carving stance on just about any car. A drag stance can look good (your car for example), but I like lowered w/ short sidewalls better.

:stupid: It doesn't look mini tubbed to me. Here is a pic of a friends car we did about 6 years ago...this one IS mini tubbed but still retained the back seat...

Sadly he sold the car when someone took a liking to it and offered him stupid money for it :D

It is not tube, if it was then you can't use your tail pipes at the stock location, so most of the time you have to use the dumps. That is the tire I'm planning to put in my car with a 10" rim.

Yeah, I was wondering if they needed custom exhaust work -- I know how close my pipes come to my street tires; I couldn't see tubbing a car and being able to run them in the same location.

Cool  Are you gonna tub yours or just massage the crap outta the inner walls w/ a BFH?

It is most important to have wheels with the proper backspacing to run a big tire. On my '86, I run a 28x10.5 on a 8.5" Draglite. The back spacing must be 5.5"; people often make the mistake of buying a wheel with a 5" backspacing which causes the tire to hit the fender lip regardless of how much you pound on it. It is interesting that factory 10 holes and "Turbines" have the perfect backspacing and support a 28x10.5 rather well. They are just a bit too narrow and cause the center to buldge a fuzz. If you install the Quad shocks backwards with the thin shaft part to the chassis and the thick part to the axle you gain almost an inch of clearance. This is, in my experience better than removing them all together as that can cause wheelhop. I have rolled the fender lip and massaged the inner fendr a bit (you cannot get much there). My silver car is lowered and sits on the tires nicely but does not scrub.

I agree, not minitubbed, but definitely rollered/cut fender lip. I had a link to a thread somewhere where a guy was running 315/35/17 on a 10.5" rim on a vert:

Still got the thread, looks like:

I put Nitto 555R 315-35-17's on a '99 Cobra wheel just to see how bad it would be. To our surprise, it worked pretty well! I even tried them at Steele (10.65 @ 136). I thought that they would buldge in the center but they were fairly flat.
