A lot of people get the big, gaughty shift lights/tacs and most of the time -at least for street applications- it's just to be seen. For those of us that would rather have something more subtle this is the answer. The units are small and extremely bright and can be mounted just about anywhere.

Pros: Small / bright / can be mounted anywhere / applicable to almost all vehicles including motorcycles / easy to install

Cons: Uses factory RPM sensor input

Installation: Pick your spot and then run the line over to your computer. You tap into the RPM input on the computer (I think it's wire 26) and a 12v battery source. Pick the RPM you want the light to illuminate by turning two dials and you are all set. Depending on your installation spot, eta from start to finish 45 minutes.

Most of you have seen where mine is in the AC vent. That was a little longer of an install because I had to route everything through the panels. It's extremely bright at night and can easily been seen during the day.

They come in several color combinations:
LEDS: UltraRed, Yellow, Green, and Blue
Housing: red, silver, black, blue, and chrome

Cost:
$85 - Basic Unit
+$5 - Chrome housing
+$25 - Blue LED (supposedly the blue LEDs are harder to make so they cost more)

I love the stealth install.

I have to agree that this is a great product. Speed of Sound offers a mount for these units which is integrated with their pod pillars. I chose my own mounting point...

I have had one for several years. I never use it though. Its mounted but not hooked up anymore.

Good quality units and cheap too!
