I've finally put some miles on my SC set up and got to check the mileage.

First tank 130 miles/6.5 gallons=20 mpg (I filled up, made a couple of 10# blasts to check the base tune, made 2 pulls on the dyno-custom tuned, drove home-yes 3 good 10# blasts on the way home-half Highway/half City).

Second tank 145 miles/5.5 gallons=26.36 mpg (mostly highway 70-75 mph-best mileage my car has ever gotten).

Third tank 170 miles/6.6 gallons=25.75 mpg (Mostly highway 75-80 mph)

Basically my mileage is about the same as it was NA, I have never beat on my car like a "ricer", so my mileage has allways been pretty good and I know that if I stay in the boost allot that my mileage will go way down. This information is for the people that want to install a SC, but worry about gas prices--yes you have to use the most expensive fuel, but if you drive it easy you can get at least 15-18 in the city and at least 20-24 on the highway!!

Wow mid 20's on a SC set up, I would have never thought that.

Wonder how a turbo would do, in theroy it should be slightly better than the SC since you don't have the constant drag from a belt.

I wish my car got mid-20's as it sits. :nono: Man I've been getting 19. but mostly city driving. :( Maybe a turbo will give me better gas-mileage.
That's it; I'm doing it :P

the problem is how the hell are you going to be able to keep your foot out of it with that much power on tap? i can drive a civic without gettin on it but when im in a 300+ hp mustang i cant resist puttin it to the floor every chance i get. could explain why i have so many points on my license, lol

Well I guess I am mature enough to be able to control myself, I NEVER race on the street and knowing I have the power when I need it is good enough for me. I will run it up to 12# every now and then in 2nd!!

I do use it when I go to the track! I use it on the street also to merge with traffic or accelerate up to legal speed. I don't race on the street and I'm not like the @sshat Ricers that think everytime they are at a light next to a car with a loud muffler I have to do a John Force impersonation!!
