Just got back from CFR and I had a BLAST!!!! Hung out with a bunch of friends (Gene, Dennis, Brandon, Steve and my son Tyler) and had some great success running. Last time out to CFR I blew an ignition coil. Not sure how, but it happened. BUT, the car ran it’s first 10 that day (10.98) in high 80 to low 90 degree weather. Today, it was high 70’s to low 80’s and the car picked up a lot. I haven’t changed anything other than running a used Crane 91 coil and a re-clocked A9L (Thanks to Chris Fillyaw for doing that for me). I tried to keep all passes the same by launching at 6,000 and shifting at 7,000 rpm. Here are the passes in order.

First Pass
R/T---.621
60’----1.487
330----4.444
1/8----6.901
MPH-100.53
1000--9.040
1 / 4—10.828
MPH--126.46

Second Pass
R/T---.225
60’----1.517
330----4.470
1/8----6.933
MPH-100.43
1000--9.073
1 / 4—10.862
MPH--126.39

Third Pass
R/T---.163
60’----1.519
330----4.493
1/8----6.958
MPH-100.16
1000--9.103
1 / 4—10.896
MPH—125.96

You can see the track started getting slippery and my 60fts started getting slower as a result. If I could of kept on hooking, I may of made the 10.7 range. That is my goal next time out. The car is running GREAT!

Yeah, the car is really responding well to the cooler weather. It has a low 10.7 to high 10.6 in her on a cold fall day with a well prepped track. I should of broke in the 10.7's today but the track wasn't holding. Next time maybe.

Very good, ED. That car is hauling the mail. Congrats:

Yeah Edgar, if I would of been able to get a better 60 I would of nailed a 10.7 something. Can't wait for the next cool day. They are starting get cooler now and I am ultimately hoping for some 10.6's. We will see.

Awesome, Ed! I assume your high rpm issues are now sorted out with the reclocked processor?

ERStettin
09-19-2005, 07:47 PM
Hello Richard,

You know I took the time to change ALL rpm parameters by 20% and the car idled at what I commanded. Then I decided to try the old tune as is and the only thing the car does different from the stock setting is idle 20% higher. So I dumped the adjusted tune and am still using the same tune I was using prior to the reclocking. The car runs great and there have been 0 adverse affects.

I drove it 114 miles one way to the track on Saturday and ran the piss out of it and than drove it back 114 miles and had 0 problems.....lol. I really love it. The car carried on to whatever I decided to shift at and had no problems like it did prior to the reclocking.

I am not sure if the increase in performance is due to the 8 degrees cooler temps or the re clocking or a little of both. Kind of hard to put a finger on it this time. I am going to try and get a 10.7 next time out in cooler weather. The car is just running so good it is very fun. I will keep you posted on my progress. I can say it is a legit 10 second ride now. Before, only tapping into the 10's once with a 10.98, it was kind of like kissing your sister. I made it, but it didn't feel like it was legit, this time there is no doubt.....lol. GREAT seeing you buddy.

Here is the slip. Could a moderator please down size it for me and put it on the readers rides section for me? I tried but it says it it too big and I can't post any 10 second information without it according to the 'rules'. Thanks.

Why can't you just get it from the above post?

I guess because he was wanting the actual slip uploaded...

Btw, that’s the same one in his post above. . . but his must be on a slow server so all you probably see in a red-x. ;)

93Cobra#2771
09-20-2005, 08:49 AM
Not even seeing a red x. I saw he had edited his post and assumed he had taken it out.

ERStettin

That is weird, my computer is showing a red x in place of the slip as well.

Could someone downsize and post the timeslip on the timeslip page for me please?

Thanks,
Ed

OK, Ed, I'm an idiot. Give me a link to the "timeslip page", as I'm not sure where you are talking about. I'll resize it for you. :puff:

ERStettin

http://forums.qwiksnake.com/timeslips.php

It displays the timeslips and times for everyone but when I try and input my timeslip, it won't take it because it is a bit larger than 600 X 600. I am not sure how to resize the slip inorder to get it to take it for my car information page. Thanks Rich.

You could always just do like Disney Lincoln did and post a picture of your car instead of a timeslip. :jerkit:

. . .it won't take it because it is a bit larger than 600 X 600.
I just cropped the top and bottom so it is now 275x600.

Now, Ed, simply upload the thumbnail that Italian cropped for you. I would, but I'm still working out this "how to do Moderator" stuff. I was able to get into your user profile, but didn't see a way to actually save/upload the file in. Oh well...

Thanks for doing that for me. I appreciate it. It worked for me. I am as they say in the movies 'Bonafide'. ;)

Now about those cherry moderators. :yup:    ;)

Evidently, the user profile has to be changed by the actual user. I can see it, just not edit it. Unless Italian wants to give me a few pointers. :D

NEW BEST TIMES!

Here are the runs. They do not include two other runs that I never finished. I blew the tires off on one pass and got out of it and then I blew a heater hose on another pass. I did get it fixed and proceeded to run the fastest and quickest time I have EVER run in this car. Here are the passes.

60’ - 1.445
330 - 4.395
1/8 - 6.848
MPH - 100.97
1000 - 8.986
1/4 - 10.782
MPH - 125.87

SECOND PASS
R/T - .520
60’ – 1.483
330 – 4.449
1/8 – 6.898
MPH – 100.65
1000 – 9.028
1/4 -10.811
MPH – 126.65

THIRD PASS

Thanks guys. It does feel good running like this. I knew the car had it in her. I just needed to find it. The TwEECer and the help I got with it from guys like Dale and Richard have made a huge impact on the performance of this car. I have 4 tunes that I have quit working on now and am going to seal the TwEECer and A9L back up in the car (back behind he kick panel) now that they are what I would call perfect. The car idles and runs great.

I have ordered some 4.88 gears and am hoping they will be here tomorrow. I am then going to take them to a place to have them lightened. I want to get them in before the next and final race at CFR this coming Saturday. It is the final MustangCentral.net race and it is a big one.

I think the car will go 10.6 to 10.5 or better with the gears. I dropped .15 off my ET going from 4.10 to 4.56's so this ought to work well. We will see.

I wanted to copy and send the timeslip but the printer it was printed on was low on ink and printed it very lightly. I can't get my home printer to copy it darker so I am going to take it to work and use theirs to do it and then I will send it on for posting. Thanks.
