Ok guys and gals......am seriously wanting to put some deep-dish wheels out back with some fat 315's. Will stay with the stock 17" size. Dont have a ton of $ to put into this, so something like CCW's are totally out of the question. Was thinking of something like FR500's or even Bullitts......What do you think"

Also, would appreciate any thoughts on color, finish, etc. Many have said that black would be awesome for this color car......I just dunno......

Thanks!

Chris

while I hate the "regular" sized FR500's, the deep dish ones look badass. So there is my vote

I love BBS wheels, but the plasma's are not that great looking. Of course, if you get a real bbs wheel it will cost you nearly $1K per wheel.

I also vote for deep dish FR500's.

Thanks guys for the replies and insight. I do really appreciate it alot! As my wife says.....I have no "taste" , so have no idea what would or would not look good...

Looks like FR500's are getting the nod so far....

Ok, which do you think would look best
Black, Anthracite, Silver, or Chrome?

Appreciate all the input!

I think the black 500's would look really good.

Have you looked around on the net at that price range to see what else is available?

Even though I realy like the 500's, it would be interesting to see what else is out there.

I vote for the Black, they would really look good on the Torchfire Red.

Second vote would be the anthracite color.

Have you looked at www.wheelreplicas.com they have a Black Chrome Saleen wheel and their prices are not that bad.

Black would be my second choice to anthracite, as long as they both have polished lips. And deep dish =

http://www.mustangtuning.com shows all of their FR500 wheels in polished lip. I dont think any choice would be bad on a redfire cobra honestly.

Silver or anthracite. Black on red doesn't look right to me, and chrome looks bad unless you clean it constantly. I'll be going with anthracite. :yup:

I agree. Black wheels on red cars....hhmmmm...
I have the chromies now. Sometimes feel like "Guido the Pimp" riding around with those shiny "shoes". Little too much 'bling' factor going on. I'm not into wearing 20 gold chains and gaudy polyester suits.....need to make a change...LOL

Thanks!

The guy I work with is selling his FR500's 17's with tires for $900. Not even 100 miles on them yet. Silver with 275/40 front 315/35 out back. He got them a week ago and doesn't like how they look. Paid right at 1100 and is taking a hit for 900...
PM me if you are interested..

FR500 17s? The OEM wheel is 18".

I may be mistaken.....but my factory chrome SVT wheels are wearing Goodyear GSD3's in the 275/R40/17 size.

Doesnt the 17 at the end mean its a 17" wheel?

The OEM FR500 was an 18" wheel. Yes, the OEM Cobra wheels are 17".

The OEM FR500 was an 18" wheel. Yes, the OEM Cobra wheels are 17".

So, the aftermarket FR500 in 17" are not Ford Racing wheels, but are the ones "made-in-china", sold by wheel replica, mustangtuning.com, etc.??

TheJeanyus

The real Ford Racing wheels are either 18X9 or 18X10. :yup:

Oops forgot to include that they are made my "wheel replicas" and are not a factory ford made wheel. Still though....$900 bucks for a week old set of wheels and tires with 315's on the back? Not too bad of a deal even if they are replicas and not 18's...

Wheel replicas makes nice wheels. They're the ONLY aftermarket copies I would ever consider.

Got 2 93 Cobra replicas in my basement now. EXCELLENT quality.

mustangmuscle

So it could be said that the quality of the Wheel Replica's is better than that of say the AFS wheels?

Have heard some rather not so good things about the quality of AFS, ie, chrome peeling away, dents, scratches, etc., and this is upon observation when removing them "as new" from the box....But, they go on to say, "still cant beat them, for the price"

Are both Wheel Replica and AFS made in China?

93Cobra#2771

Wheel replicas are made overseas, yes. At least my 93 Cobra repros are. Unsure about their other wheels, though....

I'm not crazy about AFS wheels. The finish on the chrome wheels looks sort of cheesy.
