i want to buy a 5 lug conversion but it will still have the drums in the rear, its the one from 50resto.com...and i want to run 17x9 5 lug bullits....will they fit?

i've heard that you need disks in the back.....and if they dont fit will 17x8's fit?

if anyone can help thanks....also does anyone know where i could buy the 5 lug disk brake conversion for cheap...besides buying used?

Well, 17x9 Cobra R's fit, so I would assume that a 17x9 bullitt would fit. Depends on the offset though but they should fit regardless.

What do you mean about a 5-lug disc conversion. Are we talking rear disc?

Maybe it's because there aren't any 5 lug rear drums on the market, or they are a lot harder to come by than 5 lug discs which are OEM on several Fords.

There are quite a few 5 lug drum setups that come on Fords.
5.0 Resto is using the Ford Ranger "stuff" (2 right rear axles) in the rear for the 5 lug drum conversion for Foxbody cars.....

Placeholder until I get home and dig up all my Five-Lug swap info.

17x9's require trimming in the rear unless you have the special offset R's if I recall correctly. 17x8 Bullitts rub at full lock in the front but clear perfectly in the rear.

how can you prevent it from rubing in the front....becuase i know many people who run them....lip roll? and if so how much would that cost?

An 8" wheel on the front of a fox will rub the control arm at full lock -- it's not the tire that rubs, it's the inside of the rim. You could put stops in your steering rack to limit it, or just get used to not cutting the wheel all the way. ;)

what about spacers?

Spacers stick the wheel out too far, and also risk the tire catching the ground effects/fender.

Hell, my OEM 93 Cobra rims (7.5" wide) rum on my control arm at full lock - which is why I got used to not cutting the wheel to full lock, as Italian said...

:hmm:

You may have the wrong rotors then. Mine did that when I first got it because it had GT/LX rotors on it. Put the correct cobra rotors on it and never had a problem. Don't have that problem with the 13" rotors I have now either

Nope, correct rotors. No steering rack limiters, though. I have heard that some cars had them installed from the factory, don't know if that's true or not.

Of course, my car was repaired at one point in it's life, who knows what may be fouled up (especially on the left side).

It does sit about 1/2"-5/8" lower on the front left - I halfway wonder if maybe the lower control arm might not be bent a little...
