I'm not sure if it is stamped on the top of the pinion gear or not... but you can always count the teeth on each gear and divided them to get the ratio.

i can't see the pinion. all i did was took the cover off. wondered if there was a way to tell. i guess i'll tear it apart tonite.

Remove the bolt that retains the carrier pin (use a 5/16" box-end wrench) and pull the pin out.

Remove the brake calipers, caliper brackets, rotors, and ABS sensors.

Push the axles in and use a magnet to retrieve the C-clips off of them.

Pull the axles out of the housing.

Yep, Lee and I have seen that before. We ended up having to grind a notch in the end of the pin in order to get the resy of the bolt out. Luckly, we had a spare carrier pin to replace it with.

. . . is limited slip the standard for mustangs?
Are you asking if your rearend should be a limited slip? If so, I know all V8 Mustangs since '87 have Track-Loc rearends.

Does it have the S-spring and clutch packs in the middle?
