When sitting with your vehicle in park or tranny in neutral (manuals) can you 'blip' your throttle and make boost or do you just see 0 on your gauge?

Hmmm, sounds like a disagreement that needs to be settled. :hmm:

With an 'enthusiastic' blip of the gas, the boost needle took off across the gauge. Didnt hear blower whine, though. So, is it making boost??? I have no idea.....
Hope this helps.....lemme know if you need another test...

I guess I can respond now.
We were having a big Turbo / Supercharger disscusion Sunday morning at work and I showed Lee a video of my 03L sitting in park and could hit 14 psi with no problem swinging the tach to around 4-5k. :metal:

I was thinking that yours did not. That time I took it down the strip, I played around with it and did not recall it making boost.
Anyways, how much boost are you guys able to make when doing this. KB showed me a vid of his making anywhere from 10-14 psi in park

My boost needle pegged from the healthy 'blip'. Since I'm pullied, the stock needle wont cant show how much boost I'm actually getting....???

I'm not sure how much. You have to blip the throttle really hard since I still have the stock pulley.

Just went out and tried it - I can make about 4 psi (max boost is about 9 - 9.5 psi) in neutral on the stock gauge. If you were looking at the Autometer gauge when you drove my car, it doesn't register anything until past 5 psi for some reason.

my truck can make anywhere from 13-18 just depends on which pulley i have on it. I have a autometer electric boost gauge so i can press recall and see what the rev makes boost wise

Yes, you will see boost. But you do have to blip it WOT.

Interesting thread. My car makes no boost whatsoever when doing this. I guess that is one of the difference between centrifugal setups and roots style setups

All be it just a small eaton (m90), the supercoupe would go from 20 hg vaccum to about 10lbs of boost with a good blip in neutral. It did however, have a smaller pulley than stock on it as well though.
I make about 5 pounds when I blip it pretty good.
