Well I finally got some what of good numbers. First pull on motor was 388hp 370ft lbs all the way to 6000rpm. But was very lean, so square the jets to 76. Next pull 400.5 hp and 432.4 ft lbs, all the way to 6500 rpm and it was still pulling but still lean, kept jetting and change the restrictors, well you name it, until we got 403.2 and 435ft lbs. with a 13.70:1 A/F ratio. So next was the juice, 275 shot, it put down 549hp and 556.8ft lbs, but it got really fat 10:1 a/f ratio, but that will get tune at the track. Anyway I know what the motor wants and there is alot still on the table, I could not get the torque converter to to be shocked when the throtle was at wide open, because the throtle switch was not working so had to hit it on the motor first then hit the juice afterwards and it will make the T/Q get a bit loose. It got the MTet drag radials to break a sweat, lol.

What am I missing here?
Shouldn't a 275-setting give at least 200 at the wheels???
Nice motor #'s anyhow. It's a forged 347, right?

It should, be it was slipping thru the converter, I could not get the throtle switch to come on so had to go at full throtle on motor and then hit the juice, I could not hit it from the get go, that would of shocked the converter to lock and laid down around about 680ft lbs and about 600+ hp, plus it was pretty fat. At the track it should show the real numbers, I was looking for a good tune up on the motor, now is time to play with the juice.

Nice !! I heard that soft tires (DRs, slicks, etc) hide lots of hp on the dyno. Does anyone know if this really true?

The converter does for sure.

Right. I know a guy w/ an 03 Cobra motor and a 4r70w tranny. Runs high tens, but only puts down 460rwhp on the dyno. But I also heard about sticky tires, but never saw if it was a sure thing or not...

I have pesonally dynoed my car with and without slicks on the same day just to see. On my combo it was about 19rwhp at the 600 hp level.

Good question? I have wondered that too. If they do, then what are the best tires to run to get accurate dyno numbers?

btw: Good numbers Edgar! :nice: Looking forward to seeing it run at the track again.
