It's still 9" for the front of the GT. 10.5" will fit on the rear.

thanks, and in your opinion would you rather run 9 in the front and 10 in the rear or 9 in both so you can rotate?

I personally like the "staggered" look but if you want to save money in the long run then you can get 9 or 9.5 all the way around like my old Y2K Cobra R's were so you can rotate...

how many more miles of life do you get out of rotating tires?

Don't think mine have ever been rotated on either car. It seems if you keep it aligned good then you get equal wear on all tires (with the exception of going to the track and heating the tires).

no you shouldn't have any 'tire edge' wear whether they are mounted front and back.

Its a weight thing, a normal driven car will wear the fronts out faster (equally across) because of the heavier weight on the front of the car. Therefore the tires are rotated every 8000 miles or so to keep all tires wearing at the same time.

so when u guys buy tires, do you buy 4 at once or 2 for the front then a while later 2 for the rear, then 2 for the front and so on?

i know this is off topic but while i got a thread.....what kind of RPM's will she roll at on the highway with 3:73's? <the '99 that is (she's an auto)

Depends how much you drive it. If it's a daily driven car and you drive a pretty good distance to work, I'd go with 9's all the way around and rotate them. If it's a "weekend car", I'd go with 10.5's in the rear and 9's in the front. Also, if you're planning on putting drag radials on it, you won't be able to rotate them anyway so you might as well go with wider wheels/tires in the back.

she's a daily driven toy basically...but its short distances to work 4 miles one way then i drive her to where ever else i may need to go never more than 30 miles at a time really....

Rotating wouldn't be a concern to me with that short of a drive. I drive about 35 miles one day 5 - 6 days a week. =x

hey, why is it so hard to find 18x9 tires and even 18x10 seems like i cant find em from makers on the internet

Saleens and FR500s are available in those sizes. The 2000 Cobra R wheel is a 18X9.5 and it'll fit, too.

i mean tires for that size rim, not rims itself...seems like evryone has 245x18 but no 275x18 and few have 285x18 <i think thats what 10 is might be 295 though

You just have to look, some places only offer the 245/35/18 in their ad because that's the cheapest way they can ad a package. I would ask them and I am sure they stock the wider tires for the rear. When I had my 18x9.5 Cobra R's I did 255/35/18 in the front and 275/35/18 in the rear. I really wished I would have went with a 265 or even a 275 in the front and at least a 285 in the rear because the front tire rolled off bad and the rear barely did it but it didn't look good...

i didnt even think you could fit a 255 on a 9.5" wheel

A 305 or 315 will fit on a 10" wheel with no problem.
