I'm new to the board and i just wanted to say what up. I just traded my 1999 Gt in last week and am glad to get rid of that slow Ford. I traded her for a real slow car a 2003 Cobra. I was wondering if any body on the board with an 03-04 cobra can give me any suggestions on what kind of parts worked for you.

Thanks.

Whassup, Greg.

I would start out with a cold-air kit. They usually give those cars a decent bump in power.

Catback + cold air intake netted me about 45 - 50 rwhp (most stock '03s were dynoing around 350 at Walker Dyno Tune, mine made 400.4 with a catback and CAI). The stock exhaust and intake are REALLY restrictive on these cars. Sub frame connectors were one of the best mods I've done as well.

Welcome to the site Greg.

Subframes on any mustang, especially a vert. They just make the car feel solid all around. Not really a power mod, but a great one none the less. Hard to explain how well they work untill you have them installed on your car.

2. Hood Struts

3. Tri Ax shifter

4. Powdercoat your pulley cover ;)

Hey Greg, congrats on finally getting a Cobra. I know you've talked about it for a long time now. I have a set of Kenny Brown subframe connectors that you can have for $75. I never got around to putting them on my 99 before I traded it.

Hey guys sorry i havn't posted anything yet been working most of the weekend to try and pay for the slowbra, thanks for all the help so far. I'm trying to get a parts wish list made up right now. Chip i will be in touch with you about the subframe connectors. I think Eric needs to chill on them hood struts, it's like he has a fetish with them :jester: How does the MGW shifter compare to the Tri-Ax thats the only thing i'm not sure about yet. I have driven an 04 Cobra with the Tri-Ax and i liked it but i have never seen one with the MGW. Also what is the best lowering springs for one of these cars, i do plan on having longtube headers in the future.

Thanks.

Here is my one childish moment for the day. I have a Cobra  :metal:

H&R makes the best springs. Long tubes are a HUGE pain to install, so either be prepared for a lot of work or a really high install bill. :(

probably not a massive amount because the 03/04 cobras more or less are 'dropped' from the factory.

yeah Eric has this thing about prop rods. At least you don't have to hear about it at work like I do. :baby:

Scroll down to the bottom. Note that '03/'04 Cobra will be lowered 3/8" more than the number shown.

How is a prop rod considered "import style"? I have three cars and neither of the imports use prop rods.

If I were you I would not worry about headers, just do a o/r x and a catback and be done with the exhaust. You can get well over 500rwhp with the stock manifolds.

Very true!
Headers are only worth it when you step up to a KB or Whipple, imho. The mid-pipe and C/B should be near the top of your list. Nice bang for the buck, and potentially awesome sound, if you choose the right one...;)

Also, Triax is ok, but the MGW shifter ROCKS!...again, imho

The H&R springs are great. The SS's lower the car the most....in the real world. If you want really low, they are what you want. If you want a lowered and aggressive stance without being "slammed", go with the Race springs. I have them, and couldnt be happier. Dont have any pics of the car, since I destroyed our digital camera.....maybe Santa will have one for me...???

Just "my" wording. The only cars I ever see prop rods on other than Mustangs are low priced cars with 4 cylinder engines. (Is that better?) :jester:

I'm not trying to get you to join another board.. but if you wanna see pics of springs... gotta go to SVTP.

I'm going to cut a full coil off my stock springs and run MM isolators (prolly)

as far as intakes... I have a FIPK and like it alot. I COULD tell a big difference.. I'd either have it or the JLT kit.

MGW shifters are the best.. but if i could find a good ebay deal on a Steeda one... I would've bought it
