I was wondering if it would be worth it to put a set of 1.7 rockers on a stock car? My plans later on are to have the cam, .498 lift, and a set of 1.7 rockers. I already have the cam, well it's mine but it is at Pauls shop, but I dont see a point in putting the cam in without heads and intake. However, Im getting the rockers next week, so would it be worth it to go ahead and have them put on while I save up for the heads and intake?

What are the stock 5.0 cam specs anyways?

It wouldn't really be worth the trouble not that it's hard to do but you won't get that much of a gain. The stock cam is .444 lift intake and exhaust.

Any guess on how much hp it might get me, 10 or 15 maybe?

That's ahrd thing to guess. I'll say maybe 3-5 rwhp. Probably bump your cam up to around a .460 lift

More like in the 3-7hp range IF your heads can support the extra lift...

Here's the stock 5.0 cam specs spanning several years: (page 5 in link, I can't hotlink from the corral)

If the link doesn't work, goto the corral photo gallery, then my username (same as it is here) and go to page 5.
