there is a weird popping noise in my stereo... but it only does it... ( and the pop frequency accelerates directly proportionally to the rpm's... i suspect maybe a grounding problem... but there are no other symptoms... unless my antenna is grounding to the frame somewhere... i think... possible?)

under these conditions...

when my car is running above 2000 RPM
and the RADIO is on

which means:

it doesnt do it at idle, or with the car off...
and it doesnt do it when i have a CD in...

sounds like a lifter tick... but in my radio... no sh*T

Sounds like some sort of electromagnetic interference coming from somewhere that is being picked up by the radio.

out of curiosity, are you using cheap sparkplug wires on your car?

no 88 mm grant wires

i already did the grounds on both sides... i just rebuilt the thing anyway... but its hella annoying. i dont think its a new thing though... my friend's TRANS AM is doing it too...

Could have something to do with how you have your wiring for the system run.

I have an amp and sub in the back and ran the power to the amp down one side of the car and the remote/input/output to the radio down the other side. I was told running it that way helped deter interference like you may be describing.

i will look at that... the amp runs ito the engine compartment... but it would do it all the time if it was the am huh?

If you can't locate the problem a band-aid to the problem would be a ground loop isolator. If you are running an amp the ones I sell go inline on your rca's, very easy to try out and see if it fixes it...
